Fire At Seminole County (FL) Animal Shelter Kills Dozens

this is really heartbreaking.
32 cats and 7 dogs died.

This is a shelter that was helping animals after last week's deadly tornadoes

I just want to cry. The only things that make it not AS horrible are that the animals who perished died of smoke inhalation (not as bad as the other way to go in a fire) and that Animal Svcs have been overwhelmed with donations of supplies to replace those lost.

2. Damn, that really sucks....

I've always wondered what procedures shelters had in place for this kind of thing. I know most I help out don't have staff "on-site" during off hours, mainly due to cost.

Gezzz, I hope they get through all this and keep doing the work. I'm sure that shelter has saved many many more lives than were lost in this single tragedy.
