14. That show looked like a trainwreck

I watched it for about five minutes the other night. Having not heard anything about it before I had no idea what to expect, but it was awful even by FAUX standards. I guess it was worth seeing as I doubt it will last more than a few months and be one of those almost classically bizarre, very short-lasting cable news shows, like "Alan Keyes Is Making Sense" (remember that strange one on MSRNC back in the day?) that you think about a year or so after it stopped coming on and have a hard time believing a show like that actually existed! Then again, FAUX has held on to some really bizarre shit (like "The Beltway Boys", where a right-winger "debates" a far right-winger) for years, so maybe "Red Eye" will become a fixture of their line-up.

i'm really beginning to think humor might actually be the defining characteristic between psychotic reactionaries and the rest of civil society. they declare themselves screamingly by the appalingly poor humor they have. i like my gallows humor as much, nay more, than the next person, but there's a definite finesse to true humor that i've never seen such reactionaries ever get a grasp about. something about 'sledgehammer to the face' lack of grace and craftmanship that makes it noticeably stand out...

In my opinion, this sort of shit is only a step or two away from the full awakening of a fascist state/civil war. This is the same sort of language that preceded the Holacaust and the American Civil War.

If it is a civil war, it won't be like our last one, full of set piece battles on well defined battle grounds. No, it will be much more like the Civil War was in Missouri, chaotic, scrambled, and pitting neighbor against neighbor, friend against friend, with few set battles, and an ill defined battle field.
