Bush's Iraq playbook is now out. CNN read their script perfectly
Edited on Sat Aug-25-07 07:37 AM by antifaschits
a few ground rules first:

A) IT IS NOT BUSH'S IRAQ REPORT. It belongs to Gen. Betrayus. And he and Crocker will be in charge of that report, all previous reports to the contrary.
B) THE NIE REPORT SHOWS GREAT MILITARY PROGRESS. And the fact that politically, the place is a quagmire, descending into the depths of hell can be ignored.
C) THE SURGE SOUGHT MILITARY PROGRESS, and therefore is a complete success. Forget those early reports that its sole purpose was to provide IRaq time to develop politically. Just erase that from the MSM lexicon, logic and reporting.
D) IT IS TOO SOON TO REPORT ON THE SURGE. Despite our being there, in force, in violence, in bloodshed, since 2003, We only really started fighting starting this January, so we haven't had enough time.
E) FORGET ALL PAST POLICIES, PREDICTIONS, EVENTS. THE SURGE CHANGED ALL THAT. THe surge is a clean slate, so we should all start from scratch. We need more time to see if the surge works.

To which, we can say bullshit. Here is one painful example:
ignore the fact that we called that Imam al Sadr our enemy, our sworn enemy, our partner, our best friend, then we invaded his lands, killed his people, kidnapped his extended family, tortured his associates, then let them go, declared amnesty for Sadr, ignored him, claimed he was unimportant, admitted we fucked earlier and that he now poses a danger, claimed that his force is spent and not worthy of note, tried to arrest him, tried to bomb him, called him a potential partner, called him the most important person and biggest threat to peace, laughed at him as he sought temporary sanctuary in Iran, blamed his stay in Iran for more violence, started rumors he was dead, and scoffed when he returned. AND THAT IS JUST SADR.

For that one Imam, there are three dozen other sects, groups, militias, religious groups and leaders who have been treated as badly, if not worse, and less predictably than Sadr.

The CNN meme, the new and improved framing of Iraq is clear. Forget about four years of changing allegiances, changing plans, the destruction of the Baath party, the firing of 400,000 trained professionals, including teachers, doctors, nurses, professors, sanitation experts and more. Forget about arming, then firing 250,000 army members, without pay, but forgetting to secure arms depots, forgetting to take away their weapons, and forgetting to keep track of the guns we gave them. Forget about Paul Bremer's insane ideas about how to fix Iraq, when he in fact did more to break it than any other single person, excepting Cheney and Rumsfeld. Forget that Condi RIce has twice, once as NSA chair, and once as SexState, been in charge of IRaqi reconstruction. (we KNOW how well she does in a position of responsibility, don't we?)

The MEME is simple. The surge is new, it is working, ignore the past, ignore the old mistakes, and because the Surge works, it is too early to report on it. We need more time.

That, in a nutshell, is what CNN did today, and what every other compliant retired general, GOP expert, and GOP pol will promote. And to add insult to injury, the
democrat(IC) party leadership will keep its powder dry.

3. They're Also Playing Regime Change Toadies
Wolfie's got Alawi scheduled for his treehouse tomorrow. Surely that appearance just wasn't happenstance...but part of the 300k effort by Haley Barbour's Lobbying shop to put the blame on Malaki and install "our" strongman. Call him a "friendly Saddam". And, of course, one Alawi is "installed", we're gonna have to support this latest "regime change" with a new "surge". It's moving the goal post...hell, this is moving the whole football field.

The meme is "partial progress"...like being "kinda preggers"...we still don't know, it still needs time, some progress has been made...the check's in the mail, the next exclusive interview is Wolfie's and the "feel-good" network gets to waive flags and pretend things are sweetness and light.

Letsee...you spend several hundred thousand dollars in an ad buy, and you get to be Wolfie's guest next week.

4. WAIT until September. Now that it is September, it is too soon to report
accurately. I love that one. Only a democrat in a house and senate leadership position could be stupid enough to fall for it. Unfortunately, our Nancy and Harry show are just spineless enough to do just that.

5. Excellent summary anti-
I hope you don't mind that I pasted it to their comments page... They have to know that, like William the Bloody showing up on NBC's Today yesterday, the "Big Lie" cannot fly in an internet world...

7. What I find perfectly astonishing is that things are genuinely unchanged since 2001
The same kinds of lies play out the same way, the same media players are "100% fooled". (if indeed we can we even say anymore, they are not fooled but COMPLYING WILLINGLY)

The same memes, travelling now well worn paths of the psyche to the sea, just as they did before. Apparently, the channels bushie Lies have dug in our minds were merely the paving stones of the lies to come after.

Liek nothing changed and Bushler is still at 90%. :wtf:

Like Alice in Wonderland, we are through the looking glass.

Just one issue I MUST take with you antifaschits, and that is the use of the Loyal Bushie Term "Democrat Party" :puke: I don't give shit a shit if every Dem puts their head down so Bushie can anoint it with petroleum and declare them his Lifelong Slaves, PLEASE DO NOT USE BUSHEVIK PROPAGANDA POINTS. It gives aid and comfort to the Kinder and Gentler Nazis, the Bushies.

You don't want to do that, do you? :silly: :silly:  :silly:

8. I was attempting to make a subtle point
about how badly served our party, our congress and our nation have been be the new and improved Congressional leadership, but your point is well taken. If I can edit, I will.
