Ex Cheney aide Eric Edelman: Wolfowitz asked Feith to ignore intel rebuking Saddam Al-Qeada alliance

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070209/wl_mideast_afp/usiraqpolitics_070209181600

<snip>

Eric Edelman, Feith's successor at the Pentagon and a former Cheney aide, said in a rebuttal to the report that Wolfowitz asked Feith's analysts to ignore the intelligence community's belief that the radical Islamist Al-Qaeda and Saddam's secular dictatorship were unlikely allies.

2. And wolfowitz was acting at the behest of bush and cheney
They had to lie about the connection and lie about WMD and lie about any other damn thing they could because they knew that bush's base of ignorant trash Americans love to be lied to. And they knew that when the death toll of American kids rose, it would not bother the base one bit. The trash enablers should be tried along with anyone remotely connected with PNAC including those who make a living hiding behind microphones.

My hate is rational. Please lurking trash, set me straight.

15. I wish you were correct
but a big part of bushs base is not ignorant trash - they are doctors and lawyers living in million dollar homes in affluent suburbs

maybe, just maybe, they are waking up, whereas the truly ignorant trash sub-base will hang in there.

5. The academy voted, and Feith is the stupidest man alive.
I also think I read that Feith's dad is/was some fascist founder of the Likkud party. I have never been able to find more info or verification, tho. I wish, if someone knows more about Feith-daddy's political past, they'd pick up the clue phone. I'm on the other end.

7. So the man had political ties early in life?
I'm wondering if it explains why he was able to talk himself out of a ticket in Philly when he was younger. Some DUer posted about it.

8. Try this
In October 1997, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) honored Feith and his father, Dalck Feith, at its annual dinner. The organization praised the Feiths as “noted Jewish philanthropists and pro-Israel activists” and awarded Dalck a Centennial Award “for his lifetime of service to Israel and the Jewish people,” while Douglas received the “prestigious Louis D. Brandeis Award.” Before he immigrated to the United States during World War II, Dalck Feith was a militant member of Betar, a Zionist youth movement founded by Ze'ev Jabotinsky, an admirer of Mussolini. Betar, whose members wore dark brown uniforms and spouted militaristic slogans modeled after other fascistic movements, was associated with the Revisionist Movement, which evolved in Poland to become the Herut Party, which later became the Likud Party. more..

10. That's pretty creepy...Brownshirts...that's what Feith reminded me of
in his CNN interview with Blitzer yesterday...Even Wolfie looked a little frightened of him...he was very subdued in his interview. Wolfie seemed on more friendly terms with Cheney...

I found Feith scary myself. He seems so sure of himself yet he was tripping himself up with every othr statement. My fantasy was having a prosecutor with the skills of Fitzgerald put him on the stand. I have a feeling he would crack pretty soon at the first challenge. He sounds good until you parse every word out of his mouth and realize he has excellent skills at "mowing down" any opponent. He's probably not had many opponents who could challenge him.

11. That site says Feith is former attorney for Northrup Grumman.....hmmm
could we say "MOTIVE" there? How much stock does he own in Northrup and other defense contractors.

Motive for NeverEnding War.... Did he divest himself of his stocks when he went to work in the WH?

I just turned in my next-to-last clue chip to the dealer. I think I read about this originally in the Asia Times.

6. Nominated
Feith & friends purposely created the lies that brought our nation to war in Iraq. They are enemies of our constitutional democracy.
