Viking no more
I was recently involved in a discussion on a local email list about how the Scandinavian countries, despite having moved toward a less religious cultural framework (you have to understand the conversation to understand why "despite" factors into it) have more or less turned their backs on war.

This other person's comment was that I was wrong in that, and he knew better since he's actually BEEN there.

Anyone else have any input on this? Am I wrong? Or do I have a valid point?

3. Living under occupation, as Norway did during WWII
seems to have a lasting effect - at least on my relatives.

5. I've been to Milwaukee too, that doesn't mean I know jack shit about making beer.
Visited Detroit too but I couldn't build a car if my life depended on it.

Just because this asswipe has been there doesn't mean he understands a thing about the ethos or history of the region.
