1. Sorry, but this is some seriously bad pseudo-scientific claptrap
I'm all in favor of debunking the bible, unless you debunk it with even more bunk.

9. Did you watch all of the parts? BTW..there was nothing pseudo-scientific about
the part on religion. It was a comparison between religions and their myths, which I found fascinating.

19. The Sun/Son homophone BS was enough to turn me off
If someone uses something that transparently false as their "evidence", I tend to suspect anything else they have to say.

23. Oh, you gotta be kidding me
I saw the episode of Star Trek that made the sun/son link. It was called "Bread and Circuses".

6. I made it eight minutes into this video
I'm not sure what the point is. All I saw were a bunch of cribbed images and video set to a cheesy soundtrack.

7. The opeing is strange, but the first part of the vid has nothing at all to do
with the content of the actual movie.

If you can bear to sit throught the opening again, it is a facinating study of past and current religious belief and practice and the stories behind them.

11. This is a great video. Get past the first 10 minutes, please.
Yes, the first 10 minutes or so conspire to turn the viewer off.

Don't let that happen. This is a really great video which attempts to tie together the forces shaping modern America.

12. That's what happened to me a couple of weeks ago and then I listened to a webcast
Edited on Sun Sep-02-07 11:08 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
that praised Zeitgeist and gave the same advice that you just gave. Once passed the opening it was phenomenal. It proved that there is no such thing as linear time, as the running time just flew by. :)

14. After I watched it, I realized that many DUers were awake to some degree and posting it is close to
preaching it to the choir. There has to be someway to get a Nationwide campaign for all Americans to see it. Billboards, stickers, ads in newspapers. Realistically I can't do this myself but it would be wonderful if it could be done.

Before this wishful thinking project can ever get started, I am considering trying to see if I can contact the filmmaker and ask them to rethink the beginning.

Easy Campaign... Have You Been To www.zeitgeistmovie.com?

17. Only briefly.
I am not so sure that it is preaching to the choir to post it here.

This is clearly a "Democratic" forum, not a freethinkers forum. Most people here seem to be only thinking within the confines of the elite's paradigm. No thought is ever given to the system itself.

As evidence of this, look around in the big forums for threads about changing the system, and not the policies. There are none.

Chomsky's propaganda model is indeed working.
