does anyone know where you can find Senate speeches from the 60s?
Specifically one made by RFK in March 1967?

1. hey LSK... google "Great speeches, audio"...
you should find a link to some great sites (I used to have them bookmarked). Sorry I can't give ya more, but I'm busy right at the moment; however..."the speeches are out there!"...(sorry mr. Duchovny)

2. If you could get access to the Congression Record
everything would be there. Remember bush's speech writer has copies of all the great speeches FDR and JFK made to incorporate the good talking points (changed a little to fit bush's rants) into the speeches. You could also try the NARA site. You would have to do a little bit of a search to find what you want but they should be there.

I go to NARA all the time in my genealogy research trying to find something. Remember NARA only has federal information. It doesn't carry specifically State information.

4. Is it this one?
Our gross national product does not allow for
the health of our children, the quality of their
education, or the joy of their play. It does
not include the beauty of our poetry or the
strenght of our marriages, the intelligence of
our public debate or the integrity of our public
officials. It measures neither our wit nor our
courage, neither our wisdom nor our learning,
neither our compassion nor our devotion to our
country; it measures everything, in short,
except that which makes life worth while.
And it can tell us everything about America except
why we are proud that we are Americans.

9. Here is the url for the place to start for this information
Go to www.archives.gov/research/arc on the left side of the site at the top is a yellow search click on and then type in what you want. You can't say RFK you have to type in Robert F. Kennedy and see what they have. The even have recordings. Hope you find what you want.

11. Naive Question - Have you tried the Congressional Record?
It's hard to find stuff, but if you have a date you can probably narrow it down.

Might have to go to a (gasp) LIBRARY.

12. yes
The official records of House and Senate actions are kept in their respective journals, but a fuller record of proceedings is kept in the Congressional Record, which has been published by the Government Printing Office (GPO) since 1873. GPO publishes new issues of the record daily and transmits each new issue to the Library of Congress overnight. A new issue becomes available on THOMAS the following morning. Issues are available online from 1989 (the 101st Congress) to the present. Printed copies of the record may be found in Federal Depository Libraries.

13. So You Couldn't Find it in the Congressional Record?
Interesting -- I thought the CR was complete, actually (as you say) MORE than complete, since it contains all the spurious insertions the Members insert at will.

22. "We are all participants"? March 2, 1967
http://books.google.com/books?id=gF0R8_5b78wC&pg=PA137&lpg=PA137&dq=robert+kennedy+%22we+are+all+participants%22&source=web&ots=l6yD_TtQoH&sig=G5XRH3rb5dwtLjpHfJ8-yvOAxZo

This was all I could come up with (doesn't have the full text); an excerpt from RFK: A Memoir by Jack Newfield, page 137.

If that link doesn't work, go to http://books.google.com/books and search for Robert Kennedy "we are all participants".
