Wow: Hurricane Felix now Cat 4

and forecast to become Cat 5 tomorrow

The Weather Channel says the Yucatan and Texas are not out of the woods.
Felix has been moving WNW all day and continues on that path according to the latest update. Some poor people are going to take a battering.

it's more of a "yep..." than a "wow".

deserves a wow. Same with a 7.5 earthquake. The monumental force of nature is always awesome.

We just don't have enough data to show it. We do know we are in an active era though.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT1+shtml/022359.shtml

...FELIX NOW A CATEGORY FIVE HURRICANE...

REPORTS FROM A NOAA HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT FELIX
CONTINUES TO RAPIDLY STRENGTHEN.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR JAMAICA AND FOR GRAND
CAYMAN. A TROPICAL STORM WATCH MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM
CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE WATCH AREA...GENERALLY WITHIN 36
HOURS.
