why he was different from the usual candidate.

Possibly not the best thought out intro, but it's more than making up for it.

I really feel good about life when I listen to him. Missed him on 60 minutes but saw him on C-span saturday. Inspirational and refreshing. He is only the second politician I have donated to. Clark was the first but I feel much better about giving money to Barak.

I didn't know that. THAT would be a refreshing change...someone who hopefully is familiar with and respects the Constitution. I'm far from perfect, but my bullshit meter is usually pretty spot on. I sense a refreshing authenticity about this guy.

29. His response to the "you've done a little bit of blow" question was so refreshing.
Paraphrasing... I've done things in the past that i'm not proud of. But i've learned through the years. This is who i am. Part of the problem with politicians today is how they try to airbrush themselves and portray a phony reality.

I recently read it. In the book he says he did pot and a little bit of blow but never herion. This was when he was beginning college and he did not feel that he fit in with blacks or whites. Very restless and alone at that time.

45. I loved her comment something like "Call me if you see him smoking."
She was making a joke not only about the magnifying glass they are under, but actually ASKING America to let her know if anybody sees him sneaking a smoke because he's supposed to quit. I honestly can't say when I've seen a potential First Lady actually teasing the husband like that. What marvelous instincts those two have! Laura

46. They both seem so real....like ordinary folk. I'll never forget a story Obama told
He called home to tell Michelle about some major votes on the Senate floor and about some really intense stuff going on in his life and her response was, "We have ants." and "you need to pick up some bread and milk before you come home." He said Michelle keeps him grounded. :7 Wives have a way of doing that.;)
