Stop Iran War: Ask your Congressperson to cosponsor.
"House Joint Resolution 14" is against Bush starting a war with Iran. Please ask your Congressperson to cosponsor.

If your Congressperson is a Republican, you can play up the fact that it was introducted by Rep. Walter B. Jone (R-NC). Either way, please contact your Congressperson to ask him or her to cosponsor this resolution. If you don't know the email address or office phone number, you can find it at the official webpage using Google.

13. k & r -- really appreciate you posting this!

I'm just a tad worried about a possible loophole in the language of the bill:

...or a demonstrably imminent attack by Iran, upon the United States... or its armed forces...

It seems to me that bushco has already anticipated this possible "out" and is now busy trying to make the case that Iran presents a clear and present danger to our "armed forces" in Iraq.

I'll still contact Oberstar and ask him to support the bill, but I wish the language were less equivocal. Like, say; NO attack on Iran without Congressional approval, PERIOD.

No matter what, this is definitely MUCH better than nothing. Thanks again for posting this info!
