invasion, March 03. there was a rally/march there, and a counterdem on the steps of the Lincoln Monument. I had just finished talking/taking pix of a Mall cop and his ElectraGlide, then went to a kiosk manned by two Viet Vets. I mentioned to them that we'd LOST WWII, doncha know, because of who's in office now, and they're doing the same thing to Iraq as the Nazis did to Austria/Czechoslavakia/Poland, etc.
one of the Vets went instantly besERK--swearing, calling me a commie, then waving over the same cop I'd just talked to, telling him to ARREST me for hassling them. I looked over, and motioned that I'd better, uh, move on. I told the crazy guy that I really felt sorry for him, at which point he blew up again, causing the cop to move toward me (he was about 20 feet away). I left, walking over to the prowar rally, which had Bobs Livingstone and Dornan addressing the crowd. I talked for awhile with Dornan and his wife, who were pleasant, but when I asked Dornan about his pal Al Frnaken, his wife realized I was baiting him a bit, and started to pull him away, but he didn't want to go, ha. I have pictures somewhere.
