4. I don't listen to country music anymore...
But I posted THIS.

Considering they won the awards for an album that was honed to a political point, and "Not Ready to Make Nice" was a comment specifically aimed at all the people that snubbed them for voicing what was an unpopular opinion at the time (which has been pretty much vindicated by the events of the past few years) I fail to see how accepting the award for said album in such a manner was in any way out of line. Did anyone actually expect anything different?

The country music industry spat all over these talented ladies and deserves the snubbing it's receiving in turn. For every country music fan who will no longer buy their music, for whatever reason, there's at least one new fan who appreciates their courage in standing by their convictions.

I, for one, was disgusted by the knee-jerk, frog-marching pseudo-patriotism displayed in response to Natalie's original comments. If sucking up to those who talk the talk but don't walk the walk is what country music is about these days, count me out.

As far as the Republican party is concerned, most country music fans are little more than an expendable voting bloc. It's not as though they'd actually pass legislation to make their lives any better. Minimum wage, anyone? Guaranteed healthcare? How 'bout bankruptcy protection?

Nah.

It's no coincidence that almost every bill passed by the Republican Congress was engineered to help corporate America at the expense of the average worker. And most country music fans are average workers, not corporate suits or the idle rich.

Imagine that.

Gets to the heat of the matter...
