Why doesn't RW "pro-life" mean "pro quality of life"?
They talk about abortion, but if you ask about what they are doing to protect the environment and making sure everyone has access to food, medical care, and a place to live, then they call you a Commie. Those things aren't just pro-life, but pro-quality of life in my book.

Why are they against that?

1. Because they are all about
"Screw you, I got mine". Even though an awful lot of RWers make less money than me.

2. Because at it's core, the RW is nothing but a bunch of tools for corporate authoritarianism
Don't know how to say it any plainer than that.

3. Strict Father morality
The objection to abortion has little at all to do with life, no matter how much they protest it does. It's about their desire to prevent women from rejecting the authority of the patriarch. And they see being poor as a personal, moral failure. If you were disciplined and virtuous, you'd have money.

I know, it flies in the face of reality, even that which they live in themselves very often. But it's based on deep-seated emotions, not logic.

7. That's pretty much it
If they are poor or have problems or get sick....they were bad, wrong or *disobedient* in some way.

4. Life is supposed to be a pilgrimage through hardship and misery, which for most of God's children

will end in a one way ticket to the Hot Country.

They believe that all should be condemned to life because life is the worst thing they know.

They have backwards ass political beliefs because the religious beliefs that they cling to--or those that they "come from" if they are not believers--are even more life-negating and hateful. Attitudes derived from religious doctrine inform what people believe is the "meaning of life" which in turn shapes our attitudes towards society and politics. We got lucky in this country in that most of our institutions and traditions were shaped by communities which believed in Augustinian-Calvinist Predestination. That means that is traditional among Americans and in American religious and political culture to believe that Life is a non-stop pageant of Horror and Suffering which exists for the purification and edification of the Few who are Saved. The Chosen of God will receive favor not only after life on Earth but while they are still living. They will be happy, they will be well-off. The greatest suffering in this life will be borne by the Wicked--those who will not receive salvation after death. Attempting to ameliorate the general misery of material existence, according to this traditional view, is bucking the Divine Order of the Universe. It is rebellion against God and there's nothing more sure to bring down eternal damnation on one's head than rebellion against God. Liberalism is impiety pure and simple, in fact it's the crime of Lucifer himself. Thus all should be born and all should suffer life, so that the few who are favored by God and chosen by Him through no merit of their own to receive eternal life may witness the torments of the damned and, seeing how fortunate they are to have been spared, give even greater praise to Our Lord.

8. RW religion is all about suffering and death
at least for us commoners, because that is our pathway to the hell they all sincerely hope they can watch us suffer in while they sit on clouds with the Rothschilds and Rockefellers because we all know the rich have already been anointed by gawd and given an automatic ticket to heaven.

RW religions want to make sure we all wring the last drop of misery out of life and that our deaths condemn us to more suffering. They hate us that much.

9. Because to republinazis,
pro-life is code-speak for anti-women. It's all about trying to control women.

If republinazis really cared about babies like they claim, they'd be in the forefront of the fight for single-payer, universal healthcare.

The only pro-life position is the position in favor of single-payer, universal healthcare. Anything else is pro-death.

10. The Leaders of the Anti-Abortion Movement Believe That All Men Have Domain Over All Women
They believe that they can rape any woman, and that woman has to carry their seed to life. It's that simple. It has nothing to do with the quality of life for that child. Nothing. It's all about the power of man over a woman.

That's why most of the anti-abortionists are men.
