I just heard the Armitage/Woodward tape for the first time.

I always suspected it was going to be the case, but I'm now pretty sure the tape was faked. It was put together after the fact to help explain things.

You think Woodward et. al. would risk a certain perjury and obstruction of justice conviction?

Then they came up with a little story to explain everything (which didn't work, even with the help of the media).

And the tape is just silly. Armitage makes the would-be mistakes that explain everybody's lies (about Valerie sending Joseph to Africa), and Woodward doesn't even put the would-be scoop to work when he writes his book (and everything else).
