The little girl, Madison--something in her eyes (photo).

I've seen those eyes in another little girl who was sexually assaulted and repeatedly betrayed by adults in whom she placed her trust, adults who promised to care for, protect, and love her.

Those eyes haunt me so much.

1. I saw a clip of an interview on CNN
with the guy whose in charge of the investigation. He said that investigators who deal with this sort of thing are certain this wasn't the first time the child had been abused this way - she showed no emotion and was disconnected from what was happening to her.

poor, poor baby. This has probably been the story her whole life. Who could do this to a child or any human being for that matter?

2. I pray that someday she will be able to recover from this
unbelieveable horror. While I am not a fan of the death penalty, I would make an exception in this case.

23. Disassociation disorder,...for life. That is her "sentence".
Death is too good for the barbarian that perpetrated this horror. He must live in a cell til he is dead.

25. Sadly, the odds are against her.
When children are very young, their brains are forming pathways in the form of neural connections. If these pathways are retarded by severe traumas, there is usually nothing you can do. I wouldn't just write her off, but I wouldn't be surprised at how she will probably turn out. I've met people who were sexually abused at a very young age, like from 2 years old. Something in their very center is just not there. These particular ones took glee from others pain, they enjoyed inflicting it. They were the definition of misanthropic.

If you have a kid, just go give 'em a hug.

3. That whole, unemotional look on her face
says that she doesn't expect anyone to care. There is no point in crying. There is nobody who is going to listen. Shit is going to happen and she knows it.

I see that look on adults faces when they're trying to be somewhere else. But it's heartbreaking to see it on a child, and to know the reason she is trying to be somewhere else.

18. A child's eyes...
...should never have that look. You're right. It's heartbreaking. Utterly heartbreaking. I only hope she can somehow sense the love that's going out to her tonight.

6. I do too but I fear that poor sweet baby has been irreparably injured.
I hope that she's alive and that she recovers but to say that she has a mountain to climb is an understatement of Himalayan proportions.

5. I've also seen those eyes before
It broke my heart when I saw that look in her eyes. There are too many children like little Madison in this world when there should be none at all.

My brother lives in Nevada and he said the pictures of Chester Stiles are everywhere now. I hope they find him and that poor child soon.

Nye County sheriff's Detective David Boruchowitz said investigators determined that the video of the attack was recorded over the video of an 11-year-old girl recorded in October 2005 through a window of a Pahrump home, DeMeo said.

Investigators identified that girl, now 13, after releasing photos drawn from the video and matched her to records of a "peeping Tom" report at her home. No one was found outside the girl's home when deputies arrived, and the girl wasn't assaulted, authorities said.

20. Evidently, in 2004, a Chester Arthur Stiles had a pool maintenance business in Las Vegas.
It's now out of business but, if the time frame for the tape is two years ago, I wonder if he preyed on the children of unsuspecting customers.

32. Very ugly thinking of this guy coming and going around private homes.
Hadn't heard this, yet.

Hard to believe ANYONE could be this vicious.

It's a miracle they ever got this child back in one piece!

They've confirmed that another child on the tape is safe and well but this little girl, Madison, remains unfound. The man on the tape is now believed to be documented child molester and Las Vegas resident Chester Arthur Stiles. His whereabouts are also unknown.

Why do these guys EVER get released from prison? There is no cure for pedophilia. The very lightest sentence available to them should be life with absolutely no possibility of parole.

24. That's how I feel.
Some people say I'm being too harsh, and not a good liberal. So be it. Until we can find something that demonstrably cures this, they're staying in the cage.

It's been reported that Madison is four or five, but that poor child looks like a toddler. How could anyone be so sick and cruel?

at and reading this.... Not sure that I ever felt as helpless as with this story, and not a thing we can do but wish the best for the little girl... Frustration doesn't begin to describe the feeling... One just thinks of this being your child!

21. How evil do you have to be?
How could you do that to a kid? How? In my eyes the person who did that has lost his membership in the human race. He is no better than a cockroach. Whatever happens to him, I don't care. I am inclined to think it would be a good thing if he was gone. 'nuff said.
