"We are not the world's Policemen!" Things that Republicans once said, for $500.00
Edited on Mon Oct-01-07 08:10 AM by The Backlash Cometh
This should be a category on Jeopardy. "Things that Republicans once said."

1) We are not the world's policemen.

2) Nation building is a Liberal concept.

And for $1000.00, we can add a category: "Catchy Sounding Republican Policy Titles, which do the exact opposite of what they say they do":

1) No child left behind.

2) Clear Skies.

3) Right to Work state.

Feel free to expand on the list.

9. Good one!
I'll take Rife With Irony for $500, Alex.

The Answer is:

He said,"This is an administration that has been in charge, and the price of gasoline has risen steadily since they've been in office."

:hitsbuzzer:

What did George W. Bush say, in June 2000, about President Clinton's managment of gas prices during his eight year presidency?

That is correct. :bounce:

I'll take No, He Didn't for $1000, Alex.

The Answer is:

He said,"What I think the president ought to do is he ought to get on the phone with the OPEC cartel and say we expect you to open your spigots...And the president of the United States must jawbone OPEC members to lower the price."

:hitsbuzzer:

What did George W. Bush say President Clinton should do to solve the problem gas prices rising to (gasp) $1.70 a gallon?

That is correct. :bounce:

I'll take Flip Flop DuJour for $1500, Alex.

He said," "'I know gas prices are high, there's no magic wand to wave. We'll make sure the energy companies are pricing their products fairly. If we catch them gouging -- catch unfair trade practices -- we'll deal with them at the federal government.'"

:hitsbuzzer:

What did George W. Bush say when he was criticized for presiding over the highest gas prices in history?

That is correct. :bounce:

27. Bush trampled on 'States Rights' by dragging the Florida 2000 election into a federal court.
Yet they never talk about that.

31. I think it was Somalia not Yugoslavia
Our mission was to support the Peace Keeping UN forces distribute their food. Then all of a sudden it was to go after the "War Lords". Clinton made a very wise decision to immediately abandon the "Mission" and bring our troops home..Republicans loved that move. It was not called "Cut and Run" or "Defeat" although in reality it was both..We only lost seventeen soldiers there. It was a mission started by Bush 41 and the only soldiers lost to Combat during the Clinton Administration..

Republicans hollered about that one for years. Until they came into power, that is.
