NEW BOOK OUT! 'Vanity Fair SNIP" How Clintons Sandbagged Al Gore's 2000 Presidential Candidacy
Edited on Mon Oct-01-07 07:18 PM by KoKo01
It's a great read...no matter which side you are on for this New Book about Hillary posted (for free) on "Vanity Fair" website. (ON EDIT: I changed the Subject Line so folks would know they could read it on line from "Vanity Fair."...and toned it down a bit)

White House Civil WarPromised real power as Bill Clinton's vice president, Al Gore found he had a rival for that role: the First Lady. And when Hillary decided to run for the Senate, a tense competition got ugly. In an excerpt from her new book about the Clinton White House years, the author reveals how conflicting agendas—the triangle of a scandal-ridden lame-duck president, the wife he'd betrayed, and his designated successor—sapped Gore's 2000 campaign as the bond between two couples dissolved into distrust, anger, and resentment.

by Sally Bedell Smith November 2007

(Print it to read later...it's a good one)

2. It really is a good read...since so little has been written about Gore/Clinton and what went on then
quotes from Campaign Managers from both sides and juicy tidbits.

8. I've often wondered why the Clinton's and Gore's aren't closer since at one time
they seemed so close. It's a shame if this is true. Afterall, Gore went all out for Clinton in '98 when impeachment was under way. Some people think that if Bill had resigned and Gore had been the incumbent in 2000 we wouldn't be in the fix we are in today.

9. Could this rift have anything to do with the reason
Al Gore is not running against Hillary?

12. Don't know. He may not want to get into some thing with them that M$M would interpret
as some kind of vengence/vendetta with them. :shrug; Who knows...?
