Don't you just love to hear the Tony Perkins/James Dobson group say they will back a 3rd Party Candidate if Giuliani wins the Repub Nomination? And then listen to Repub Members of Congress tell them to get over it because Rudy is going to win the Repub Nomination?

I also enjoyed the Grassley speech in which he took 150 Repubs to task over their threat to vote against S-CHIP insurance for kids bill. He really called those members out for failing to offer amendments, engage in discussion at the time the compromise was reached, and then they show up and follow the lame leader in the WH in voting against it.

Republicans eating their own... more please!

2. If rudy dudy gets the nod the NRA is going to line
up a firing squad.

DUers don't seem to appreciate how much the NRA hates him.

3. Hey Rudy's wife called him while addressing the NRA and said "hello...."
NRA has just about as long a memory as the RW fundies.... they don't forget and don't trust anyone who has ever advocated any kind of gun control.

14. It's not the NRA. It's the people who want to outlaw the birth control pill.
And they OWN the GOP.

7. Almost as sweet, a line of Repubs announcing they won't run for reelection...
The Repub desertion is just beginning.

This is going to be a huge rout of the Repub Party, and the incumbents have no appetite for being totally powerless in Congress.

11. Maybe Rudy needs to have his wife call Perkins & Dobson and say 'hello'...
... that was his strategy with the NRA!

13. I've been saying this for a year. The GOP base is motivated by the fantasy that they'll be able to
outlaw abortion, then birth control, then all non-procreative fucking. Women will magically return to the kitchen to be barefoot & pregnant, gays will teleport back into the closet en masse, God will return to our public schools amongst much fanfare, no one will ever look at a magazine or film with swearing, or naked people fucking in it ever again, and the country will return to the idyllic 1950s.

Rudy Guiliani is an ass, but he's an ass who is inescapably pro-choice. The 6,000 year old flat Earth knuckle draggers who have a vice-lock grip on the primary process of the Republican Party will NEVER stand for a nominee who is pro-choice.

But I'll settle for political upheaval if it will stop the next war.

17. It really is no surprise that fundies would not support Giuliani...
They have been clear about the make or break rule, no support for pro-abortion candidates.

So if you are the top Repub Party Strategist how do you mend this hole in the Party boat?

Boy Genius Karl Rove is not going to be around to help this time.

IMHO Giuliani cannot win if he gets the Repub Nomination.
