O'Reilly ousted as keynote speaker by National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
HUH!

I very very rarely bother writing about my displeasure about something I find maddening, but O'Reilly pushed me over the top. I sent the Center an email with the link to "thesmokinggun.com" story about falafel Bill's sex perversion. He's toast.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/1013043mackris1.html

I'm happy to have been part of bringing him down a few notches. I hope he is seething mad and has a stroke.

The Center for Missing and Exploited Children statement on the subject said in its entirety:

In response to the numerous e-mails and inquiries we have received, we are providing the following update regarding the Collier County, Florida branch fundraising dinner scheduled for March 9, 2007 in Naples, Florida. Bill O'Reilly, host of The O'Reilly Factor, will not be a speaker at the dinner. The dinner will be held as scheduled. John Walsh, host of America's Most Wanted, will be the keynote speaker.

We would like to thank everyone for their comments and e-mails.

2. That organization needs to look at who made the decision
to have such a divisive right-wing extremist speak at their function.

Bad decision for an organization that is (at least overtly) non-political.

They should have asked Patty Wetterling, of course she probably does that circuit anyway, I wonder what her opinion of this whole debacle was....

9. smacks forhead! I didn't even think of her, she would have been an excellent
choice and she is someone that doesn't really get any spotlight.

5. Alright! That's what I'm talking about. A little action by a group of
concerned individuals got something done. Glad to have been a part of it.

15. I sent one, too.
I'm not one to send a lot of emails, either, but I sent them one about two weeks ago. I talked about the Hornbeck case but I also mentioned his sexual harassment case. I said that I thought it would be disgraceful for them to have him as a speaker.

I'm thrilled that they canceled him. I can't believe they would invite a sexual predator to speak in the first place. What were they thinking?
