24. Hey!
The Dixie Chicks have lots of friends in Dallas - some of them chased out almost every Republican judge in Dallas county in the mid-terms last year.

30. Yes, actually, you need to say that
Dallas County threw out ALL repuke judges in the Nov 2006 election and elected all Dems, that they elected a Hispanic lesbian for county sheriff in Nov 2004...and that the county went 49% for John Kerry in 2004.

40. Stupidly worded question. Confusing. A straightforward up or down on support of DCs would be more
meaningful.

Is the controversy actually over because they won grammys? Probably not.
Are the Chicks "ready to make nice" now? Probably not.
Will a rise in sales make the controversy over with? Guessing not.
Still, I voted yes. At some point on their show this morning they're likely to talk about the poll, so vote it up.

(BTW, I used to work at this station. There are more liberals working at Fox -especially the local Fox stations- than you would guess, but most just aren't in a position to much influence the Fox corporate political agenda. Plus, the local stations are not as RW as FNC. Also, this station had the Dixie Chicks on many times performing on the morning shows before they were famous, and interviewed them -quite fairly IMO- after the controversy broke.)

13. Why would they do that?
A "No" vote on that poll means they support El Diablo, Abu Ghraib, Blackwater, the desecration of Ur, etc.

Whoever wrote the poll was mighty clever.

Also, I think it's fair to say that the Chicks alienated some of their hard-core country fans, regardless of their political viewpoint.

Personally, I'm not a huge country fan but have learned to love the Chicks for their heart, their chutzpah, and their harmonies. Their Grammy-winning CD was the first I ever bought, and I made a point to go see Shut Up and Sing. But let's face it: the Chicks may be leaving some of their old crowd behind as they "evolve." (After all, we know how some folks in this country feel about evolution!)
