A couple of thoughts on Erik "Is He Really a SEAL?" Prince and Blackwater

1. I'd like to see one of the committee members connect the dots between "Sort of Maybe He Was a SEAL, Perhaps" Prince and his family connections to one of the most arch-Conservative families in the United States, the DeVos clan of SCAmway fame. Also, I cannot recall a single operator, outside of Perfumed Prince, who left the SEALS after his wealthy, arch-Conservative father died.

2. The hallmark of Special Troops (not Special Forces) is the ability to murder unarmed citizens of their own country (see most of Eastern Europe and Germany during WWII and pre-Soviet and Soviet Russia - ever wonder where the word pogrom comes from?). Iraq is the training ground for the future Special Troops command of such outfits of Blackwater, Dyncorp and Triple Canopy. The "training" is meant to inure them from the destruction they cause and to look at their "targets" as sub-human.

he fulfilled the terms of his service obligation and there was no stop loss preventing his separation from service. People get out of the military on a daily basis, yano?

...do a Google search on the Fine Prince. You should find some interesting information about how he, an officer in the U.S. Navy, was let out of his committment after his father died. You'll also find out about how he couldn't hack the discipline at the USNA and transferred to a Christian college in Michigan.

I had USMA friends who took advantage of an early release program back in 1999/2000 that allowed them to separate from active service and fulfill their commitments in the IRR.

Hardship discharges due to family problems, pregnancies, etc. are also very common.
