Is there anyone who really doesn't "get it?" Yes, it's a war for oil. But it's also a war by and for the profiteers who are the business/political "partners" of Cheney and the Bush family business -- aka the Carlyle Group. We are living through the greatest heist in American history.

But if only it were that simple. We are also living through the worst period to date of American fascism. The war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by this band of cretins is something new to our often sordid history.

Cheney/Bush and Co. must be made to answer for the despicable acts they've committed and are still committing. And not just through impeachment. If they are not indicted and tried for their depravities, we are throwing out an open invitation to every would-be tyrant with the power, bucks and corrupt machinery, to carry on where they left off.

Most of us still believe in an America that has almost ceased to exist. We must somehow revive it, and then stand constant guard against the next group of barbarians who try to steal it from us.

At present, Ken Burns' "WWII" is being rerun on PBS. How those of "The Greatest Generation" would have hung their heads in shame of what we've become.
