Five people are reported killed after a man with a shotgun began firing at customers at a mall in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Reports say Trolley Square, a selection of smaller boutique merchants, was the scene of a bloody shootout, which has also left the alleged gunman dead.

Police have surrounded the area, deploying emergency medical teams and SWAT.

Witnesses say the shooting began in the parking lot, and the identity of the gunman and his motive are still unclear.

7. Philly paper says 4 dead 1 seriously wounded

A gunman shot and killed three people and critically injured another person before turning the gun on himself in an office building at the old Philadelphia Navy Yard on Monday night, police said.

Police received a 911 call at about 8:30 p.m. of a shooting in Building 79 of the Philadelphia Naval Business Center in South Philadelphia, authorities said.

Four people were shot to death, including the gunman, police spokesman Capt. Benjamin Naish said. Another person who was critically injured, was taken to Jefferson Hospital, he said.

Another two people were present, but were not shot, police said.

12. Trolley Square Mall....gunman walked through mall taking shots

at anyone in shops and restuarants. The people on the scene are giving such different descriptions it's hard to discern... 10 shots, 100's of shots, gunman in trenchcoat, gunman in a hoodie sweatshirt, man walking with pistol rather than rifle...

It sounds worse the longer the coverage goes on...wounded people laying in front of shops or walking into restuarants for help. Hopefully they'll get all the info straightened out soon. Pure hysteria...and sooo many babies sitting outside with chins quivering in the cold.

but spokesman says many are at hospitals some critical.

Redcross is there...many traumatized people and they are giving mental health number to call.

Hopefully Helderheid is reading a book and immune to it all.
