1. Oh now, where are your priorities?
Folks in New Orleans are already free

to be homeless
jobless
without schools
to struggle for food, water and shelter
to be victimized by private contractors and government

It's Iraq's turn now

Some people are just so selfish.

3. Excellent response
Of course, there are no car bombs or death squads in NOLA yet, but I'm sure once Negroponte has a few weeks to spare he'll be taking care of there. NOLA already is getting the shootings...

7. Was there any warning? I just put on Headline News to see if they report anything.
Did you get any more damage?

9. Not that I can tell
I'm not going outside right now. More storms are on the way.

About 30 mins. ago I heard tree branches snapping, then a loud roar coming from the West. The tornado passed about 1 mile away from my house.

Now it is calm with some lightening flashes.

15. Do you have an accesible basement or storm cellar?
Edited on Tue Feb-13-07 06:00 AM by Kurovski
Be safe. They say the bathroom is a good place to be if a big storm comes. The pipes help strengthen, I guess. Get in the tub and put a mattress over you. Do you think you could get a good nights rest that way? :-)

Anyway, that's what I've heard you can do if a big one comes round. Getting under large, heavy tables or other furniture is another. I used to live in tornado land. Once saw a huge tree crack right in front of my bedroom window. I remember the storm was on Khachaturian's birthday. Funny what we remember.

The window frame did not bean me in the head ala Dorothy.

Anyhow, you probably already know all this, up to and including staying clear of windows.

Good night, Swampers.

Edit: is it true one should go to the northwest corner in a cellar?
