9. Thank God for a judge who seems to have common sense!
This AH was a US Senator for YEARS! He is SUPPOSED to have logic and common sense when performing his duties as a Senator. If he's too damn stupid to realize he should have contacted a lawyer, that's HIS problem! If he signed the guilty plea WITHOUT reading it, that's even WORSE! I suspect none of those things are true. I think he believed he had so much clout via being a Senator for so long, he could run rough shod over all those peons using all his power, and this whole thing would go away.

Surprise, surprise, Larry! Hang your head in shame for such a flagrant attempt of abuse of power as you crawl back to your Idaho cave.

12. Darn it all.
Though it is the correct ruling, it would have been good for the republican party to have this be on-going.

13. Okay, NOW the feeding frenzy by the GOP to get him out of the Senate will begin in earnest.
They will take him down like a pack of hyenas take down a wounded wildebeest. It's gonna be ugly, if he doesn't go quietly.

paying his fine. More than two months to think it over.

But what else can you expect from a police state.

And it is a police state now, especially in airports. No question about it.

28. According to our system of justice you get one trial for one crime.
Unless you're a connected Republican bigwig--then you get as many whacks at the ball as you need. Who forgot to tell this judge that Republicans live by a different standard of law.

29. THE HILL: Despite ruling, Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) says he will finish out his term
Despite ruling, Craig says he will finish out his term
By Elana Schor - October 05, 2007 - 30 minutes ago
http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/despite-ruling-craig-says-he-will-finish-out-his-term-2007-10-05.html

Sen. Larry Craig (R) said Thursday he would finish his full term before retiring, his choice revealed hours after a Minnesota judge denied the Idahoan’s bid to withdraw his guilty plea in the bathroom sex sting that upended his career.

Craig’s determination to stay in the Senate for another year leaves GOP leaders mulling their next move. The ethics committee has asserted jurisdiction over Craig’s alleged homosexual solicitation, leaving the door open for public hearings on his conduct or any stronger measures — such as censure or expulsion — that Republicans may seek to pursue.

“As I continued to work for Idaho over the past three weeks here in the Senate, I have seen that it is possible for me to work here effectively,” Craig said in a statement, adding that he would push to “clear my name in the Senate Ethics Committee — something that is not possible if I am not serving in the Senate.”

In a 27-page order, Judge Charles Porter of Minnesota’s Hennepin County court rejected the argument from Craig’s legal team that not allowing him to withdraw his guilty plea would be a “manifest injustice.”
