Has degenerative nerve disease that makes it impossible to continue serving. Best of luck to the Senator and....

another (R) seat up for grabs.

4. Vague:
The 75-year-old New Mexico senator scheduled a formal announcement in late afternoon Thursday in Albuquerque. In a draft statement, he said he has a progressive disease that can cause dysfunction in the parts of the brain important for organization, decision-making and control of mood and behavior.

"The progress of this disease is apparently erratic and unpredictable. It may well be that seven years from now, it will be stable," Domenici intends to say, according to a draft of remarks prepared for delivery.

"On the other hand, it may also be that the disease will have incapacitated me. I am not willing to take a chance that the people who have so honored me with their trust for 40 years might not be served as well as they deserve in the United States Senate."

5. No, just senile dementia
AKA organic mental disease. He's been showing signs for years: slowing speech, poor memory, etc.

I don't care what gets him out of office as long as he's GONE and his rotten staff with him.

The next guy might be just as big a nightmare, but at least he'll be far less powerful.

3. How Many Seats In Congress Does That Make Now That Are Open Due To Repugs.....
resigning or not running again? I know we have three Repug Congressmen in Illinois. But what is the total in the House and in the Senate? What are the Dems doing to take advantage of these openings. They need to move fast and take advantage immediately.
