Dennis Kucinich on PBS now (central time)
Mentions HR 1234 as the only plan for really ending the war.

2. Judy Woodruff is really being awful to him
She is trying to make him look bad.

6. I'm glad she did.
He handled it so smoothly, thoughtfully and tactfully, actually, that it really made him shine!
Those were really awkward questions and they were perfect.

4. Wow!
What a remarkable interview! I think I almost held my breath through the entire thing, impossible, of course, but when they wrapped up, I found myself puffing and blowing.
I was almost not breathing, listening to him and his logical, well thought out plans and policies. What a candidate!

7. He sounded great
but there was a little bit too much 'I am the only candidate ...' for my tastes. He also wiffed big time. When he was asked if his plan would be like Canada and Great Britain he had a chance to inform the public, and he wiffed on it. :banghead: Dennis, most Americans, probably even many PBS viewers are not aware that the Canadian and British systems are measurably better than ours while costing much less. That should have been stated straight out. "Yes, it will be like those countries. Both of those countries' systems are better than ours and cost much less than our current system." and be prepared to cite a few sources on that.

8. Hmmm...must've misheard....
JUDY WOODRUFF: For most people, single-payer health care system, most people, their image of that is what Great Britain has, what Canada has. Would it be something like what's in those countries?

REP. DENNIS KUCINICH: Yes, it would, and we'd have the quality, as well. You know, the problem is that people are trapped into premiums, co-pays, and deductibles. Everyone watching this knows that there's no control over these insurance companies, that the insurance companies make money not providing health care. They tell doctors what they can and cannot do.

Go Dennis! :woohoo:

11. no, that was what I heard
"we'd have the quality, as well" is too much shorthand. Joe Listener probably thinks 'Of course, we'd have the quality, we're Amerikuh'. It does not clearly make the point that those two socialist medicine systems are currently kicking our a$$ in quality and price.

It's kinda like she asked him "Would the meal you are offering be like chopped liver?" and he said "Yes it would, and we'd have the quality, as well." Instead of reading the implied criticism and informing the public "It would be like that, but what you are calling 'chopped liver' is really prime steak. Studies have shown that it is nutritious and delicious." This is not an analogy that works for vegetarians, but I think it needed to be made. Otherwise, he has just admitted that his system sucks and also admitted to being some kind of nut who thinks that chopped liver is quality eating.
