It's Snowing! --- My answers to some common questions/Rant

[The Straight Story]

Well, they are my answers anyway :)

Question:
Why is the media locally all over this snow storm like a republican on a defense/offense budget increase?

Answer:
If there is one thing the news does (I am listening to talk radio as I type) is cover the things which affect the most people. This snow storm here does. School closings, business closings, accident reports, tips for staying warm if the power goes out, etc.

The Iraq war, etc - unless you know someone there and want updates on what is going on chances are you don't think too much about a country you never plan on visiting, and there are more pressing local issues that affect you. It might not be how we here on DU see things, but listening to talk shows the most calls generated are on local issues that affect a lot of people - OR entertainment related news when it is someone we have all seen for years (ala Anna Nicole Smith).

And people do care about Iraq - they just don't see much they can about it day to day, that is what we elected people to do.

Question:
What is driving the hate groups in this country?

Answer:
A blind jealousy of not being a member of a smaller group and getting attention (which, if the dumb fucks thought about it, isn't any damned fun, mmmm K? If you freaks are reading this, take note)

The general thought goes like this:
Women are part of a minority group, blacks are, indians, gays, handicap, mentally ill, veterans (yeah, I include them cause they are fucked over too by our government), and you can add more.

You can be a white male and in a minority - like being a white gay man.

Our history was written by white men about white men and for white men. Straight white men, few with any disabilities.

So - you want to be a form of minority you racist pigs? Well - you will be soon. Between latinos, blacks, women, gays, handicap, etc and so on you will soon get your wish. But don't expect those folks to treat you like you have them - they have been there and don't want others to suffer in the same way they have. So even when you become the minority so you can claim your 'victim status' you won't get it.

You lose.

Question:
Why do some liberals want to make more laws to control how we live (like guns and shit)?

Answer:
While I am not such a liberal myself, I can certainly see why they want to - and what amazes me is how you asswipes on the right don't freakin get it. After all - it was your ideas that sparked it all...

Original sin and man being evil by their very nature (ie sinners). Your method of controlling people revolves around religion and punishment, drill into someone's head that sex with someone of the same gender (as but one of zillions of examples) is evil, try to control that via laws and brainwashing, and then get all outraged when such people are proud of who they are. Oh the horror!

You are the original control freaks. And yeah, we got some on the left - but you fucks got it down to a subtle yet brutal science. Live our way or be shunned, stoned, imprisoned, beaten, etc and so on.

And no, not all people on the right are like that of course. But when it comes to wanting to control others, you folks were the #1 inventor of the remote control.

You dare to control who can marry, who gets to eat and have health care (not in your club living life the way you do, tough luck, people can suffer).

Lastly
You rw folks don't understand jack shit. You say you are pro-life because the fetus is helpless and we have an obligation to help it out. You ever hear of mental illness, depression, drug addiction, etc? There are a lot of people who are helpless, and pep talks won't save them. Action will - and that takes money, but you would rather spend it on wars to kill more people than welfare and healthcare for your fellow citizens.

It is snowing outside - but the blanket of pure snow will never be able to cover the sins you are perpetrating on people. The snow is red now, blood red.
