Truth

As I was sitting in the Dirksen Hearing Room a few weeks ago, listening to the testimony of the folks from the GAO, I had one of those moments: you know...when you feel your head explode, or search for a nearby wall upon which to bang it??

karendc's diary :: ::
Sen. Norm Coleman was asking the GAO guy why the numbers in his report about the success of the SURGE were different from what he had been seeing.

Oh, said Mr. Walker from the GAO. You saw the OFFICIAL numbers, My report is based on the UNofficial numbers.

OOHHHH, I thought to myself. There are TWO sets of numbers! At least! Holy Orwell! I wonder which ones are the ACTUAL numbers, as opposed to the FANTASY numbers?

No one else in the room, which was crowded, even blinked.

This past week, we were informed, by the New York Times, no less, that there were dueling memos about torture. Larry Craig said he was no longer guilty, while Marion Jones said she was no longer innocent.

I have tried to believe in at least two impossible things before breakfast, but it seems that even the impossible things I believe are, somehow, possible by the time the toast is burned...

But the most impossible thing that has become possible came with the death and story about Ciara Durkin, at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.

CBS/AP) Exactly how Ciara Durkin died remains a mystery. The Army National Guard soldier from Massachusetts was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in Afghanistan last week, and now her family is demanding answers from the military.

Initially the Pentagon reported that Durkin, part of a finance unit deployed to Afghanistan in November 2006, had been killed in action, but then revised its statement to read she had died of injuries "suffered from a non-combat related incident" at Bagram Airfield. The statement had no specifics and said the circumstances are under investigation.

Durkin had a desk job doing payroll in an office about three miles inside the secure Bagram Air Base. About 90 minutes after she left work last Friday, her family says she was found dead near a chapel on the base with a single gunshot wound to the head.

The reason my head went a-spinnin' at the news is that it sounded horribly familiar. Juan Torres' son John was also shot in the head, at Bagram, and John was...part of a finance unit. Doing payroll.

Canavan told the Quincy, Mass. Patriot Ledger on Wednesday that when her sister was home three weeks ago, she told her about something she had come across that raised some concern with her: "She was in the finance unit and she said, 'I discovered some things I don’t like and I made some enemies because of it.'"

Canavan revealed that Durkin said if anything happened to her, to make sure it was investigated.

Rest of the story here

John told his father the same thing, several hours before he was killed.

4. These types of mysterious deaths have been going on for decades ---
we need special prosecutors to investigate what's happening with the corruption of the military --
part of it is obviously about drugs -- part of it is trying to make Nazis out of the troops --
another part is huge amounts of missing $$$$$ --
and who knows what else is going on --

But, somebody sure as hell has an idea -- and we can find out.

Rumsfeld -- 2.3 Trillion he can't account for -- think it's $3.4 Trillion now!!!
Billions missing in Iraq/Afghanistan ---

15. "Part of it is about drugs"

also Pat Tillman saw something going on in Afghanistan which he felt was criminal, and may have noted in his diary which later got destroyed.

The truth has been leaking out about the heroin industry and how funds may be circulating back to our government leaders. No wonder they need to keep this under wraps. See Sibel Edmonds.

but, over the years I've also heard that there are Swiss Bank Accounts --
And, shirley, Swiss bank accounts are a threat to US democracy --

I doubt they keep the $ in mattresses --

One of the stories I heard back more than a decade ago was that some white hat CIA folks were following the connections and forcing out members of Congress involved --- quietly.

I don't know that I believe the story -- why do it quietly?

I do believe the CONNECTIONS ---

6. What was it that Ciara has seen?

“The last time she was home she said she had seen things that she didn’t like and she had raised concerns that had annoyed some people,” said Durkin’s sister Fiona Canavan, 44, of Quincy.

“She said, and I thought she was joking, that if anything happened to her we had to investigate.”

Don't let this story die. Get to the bottom of it, pursue the facts and settle for nothing less than the truth even though it hurts. I can't believe how much it hurts and I didn't even know her.

14. Obvious
The amount of money being made from these wars and the drug trade has corrupted nearly everyone associated with it. For those few that are brave enough to say "no", this is not what America is suppose to be, are being murdered. That's your answer. It has never been more true then it is today, if you stand-up for what you believe in you better be prepared to be shot down.

For those of you that haven't been paying attention for approximately the past 40-odd years this country has been transformed into a complete Warrior Imperialistic Police State.

Is it over? Can it be repaired?

Hardly, I believe it's going to get much worse soon. There is just too much ignorance and the fascists are too powerful and control nearly everything we hear, read and see. All we need is one more "false flag" attack, and/or bombing of Iran and it's over. I have little doubt that sites like these will be shut down and those that have been posting will be among the first to rounded-up and placed into the 800 detention camps Halliburton has built across this country.

If I sound negative, well, please show me something positive and I might have some hope. But so far all I see is a lot of very bad people getting away with murder, war-profiteering and genocide.

Wonder what Tilman did or said. Even his family was suspicious or we wouldn't still be hearing abuot it.

The Death of A Soldier

By: Nicole Belle on Friday, March 9th, 2007 at 2:36 PM - PST

It's a call that no parent of a military member on active duty in the Middle East ever wants to get. On July 19, 2005, the parents of Pfc. LaVena Johnson got the call that their daughter, not quite 20, had died. Worse, the army told them that she had died of self-inflicted, non-combat wounds.

But did she?

KMOV-TV:

The army ruled her death a suicide, the victim of a gunshot wound to the head.

In documents and autopsy photos obtained by the Johnson family and shared with News 4, more questions are raised than answered.

One strange fact was that Lavena was apparently abused, physically, and the autopsy didn't address the physical trauma to her body.

<..>No bullet was ever found where she died, and a trail of blood is seen in photos outside the tent. Even stranger, it appears as if someone tried to set her body on fire.

So if it wasn't a suicide as the Army maintains, then how did Lavena Johnson die?

Based on the autopsy photos, her father believes that she was raped.

25. Pay no attention to this map.
It's merely a composite of two maps showing opium production and certain major highways, with the little red square noting the approximate location of Bagram.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with this.

26. Well, one thing is clear...two of the three (or 4 or more)
told family members that something was up.

Perhaps your map has something to do with it.
