Here's a new scare tactic the GOP is using to win in '08...
...the "anti-Christ" will be disguised BEHIND a political figure--namely President. This is no joke.

I just talked to my Christian conservative sister, and she said her pastor of a huge evangelical church said to beware that the anti-Christ will be behind a political figure, someone who hides behind someone in authority, namely the President. Yep, folks, this is the only thing they have to stab at Hillary. And Obama supporters, your not off the hook either, because he speaks of the "anti-Christ" being linked to the Muslim community. :eyes:

If I was to tell you that this was going to be the worst of it, I know I would be lying. This particular pastor donated $2,000 to Bush's campaign and is a rabid right-winger. No political interest there:sarcasm:

7. The book of Revelations has been a controversial topic
since I was a kid. So many different ways to say the "end is near," that it just turns into one big propaganda machine after awhile.

president can be seen as the Anti-Christ?

Giuliani (married three times)
Romney (a Mormon)
Thompson (cradle robber)

What will be the litmus test of who ISN'T the Anti-Christ?

6. Remind those people that they're stupid, and don't understand the concept
An/the "anti-Christ," if you believe in that sort of thing, will not be someone "evil," like they claimed of Bill and now Hillary. That is the exact opposite of an anti-Christ.

Remind these people that George W. Bush fits the definition of the anti-Christ to a tee, especially given their Presidential definition. Because the anti-Christ will appear as a benevolent figure, and godly figure, a leader of men...but will only reveal his true nature after it is too late.

Does that sound more like their boy George Bush or Bill and/or Hillary? It doesn't take a religious scholar to figure that one out.

10. We just had a very heated discussion about that.
It's fruitless to try and discuss anything rational with these people.

11. I thought Cheney was the anti-Christ?
And Rove was the false prophet. And Bush was the false idol or something like that. If anyone fits, it would be them--with one exception. The entire world can't stand these guys and the only people fooled by them seem to be the evangelicals. And nowhere in the Bible does it say the anti-Christ is going to be Muslim. He'd most likely be Jewish, if the book weren't mostly a plagiarized work of fiction, that is.

Maybe we'd better check some of the other apocalypses:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Revelation

Other apocalypses popular in the early Christian era did not achieve canonical status, except for the 2 Esdras (Apocalypse of Ezra), which is canonical in the Russian Orthodox and Ethiopian Orthodox Churches.

17. Oh, Lord and Lady
There are two problems with Revelations.

First one is that it wasn't supposed to be part of the Holy Bible at all, as I understand it...kind of an outtakes thing added for the curious.

The other thing is that it was written in a cave, likely under the influence of hunger and magic mushrooms.
