The press- the only industry protected by the bill of rights.
Edited on Sun Oct-07-07 04:32 PM by JitterbugPerfume
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;or abridging the freedom of speech,OR OF THE PRESS,or of the people peaceably to assemble ,and to petition the Government for a redress of grievance.

my question

Is the internet the "new"press?

How do we re-own freedom of the press, and rescue it from corporate control?

1. as long as the MSM controls what is called the press
we'll not be able to take it back.

Ironically, the MSM no longer serves the function of reporting the news, hence they're not really "the press", as it were.

2. What saddens me is that there are many places in the world
where people would die to have the right of a free press. And ours caves, and shills. It's obscene.

3. The Internet surely counts as a press.
Well, a server does.

As does a photocopier.

It's not the tool, or even the businesses, that are primarily protected; it's the use.
