4. I'm from Freehold also, the house you see on South Street my two

aunts lived in before the Springsteen's moved in. Bruce is the genuine article and this is one of the best interviews I've seen. Down the street from that house on the corner of McLean Avenue used to be a submarine shop. He and his buddies used to hang out there once in a while and I remember one Sunday afternoon running into him (I'm ten years older than he) and said to him, "for God's sake Bruce, get a haircut!!" He never let me forget that. Many years later I was working in my yard in Manasquan and he rode by in his truck after visiting his cousin Mary on the next block (her one son is a roadie for Bruce). He waved, tooted the horn, etc. My two sons were there and asked who's that? I answered. There was a rather "new" respect for Mom...lol.
