Bush Dogs still voting against Children's Health Bill
The Democrats are running a phone and email campaign to try to get the Bush Dogs to change their vote supporting bush and his veto to over ride his veto they are having much luck with these Blue Dogs ooops I mean Bush Dogs.

They are

Jim Marshall D-GA
Mike McIntyre D-NC
Bob Etheridge D-NC
Baron Ill D-IN
Gene Taylor D-MS

They will be up for re-election in 2008, we should start now to have another democratic representative run against and throw the bums out. We should also be sure not one cent of democratic money goes to these republicans hiding in democratic clothing.

4. Kucinich vote explained
Edited on Mon Oct-08-07 07:18 PM by KamaAina
basically, he wouldn't support a bill that doesn't cover children of legal immigrants.

http://kucinich.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=75275

"I cannot support legislation which extends health coverage to some children while openly denying it to other children," Kucinich said. "This legislation is woefully inadequate: and I will not support it.

"Legal immigrant children deserve the same quality health care as other children receive. It is Congress' responsibility to address the main difficulties that prevent legal immigrant children from gaining access to health care. Today, we did exactly the opposite....

Kucinich voted for the original House-passed version of the bill because it contained language to grant health coverage for legal immigrant children. However, in today's bill, this language was omitted.

Eurghh. Someone pulled a sleazy fast one in conference. Wouldn't I like to know who? :grr:

edit: spelling

5. But will he vote to override?
The language was changed to bring more republicans on board, I am sure. It sucks but it's reality. Get this bill passed, then get it changed later. It's not like it does something bad for the kids that are covered - it just doesn't cover enough.

Anyway, I am just asking if he will vote to override.
