It is interesting to consider what would happen were Kucinich the Nominee
I am not supporting Dennis Kucinich for President (at this time) because I'm waiting to see if my dog is going to get in the race - maybe friday will tell. I have, however, given some thought as to what would happen were he to receive the Party's nomination.

My goodness, it sure would force the debate, wouldn't it? Dennis Kucinich, no matter what you think of him (and I hope you think highly of him) is a may who does not stand and listen to horse shit without saying so. Whoever the Democratic Nominee is that person will be in the spotlight day and night from the acceptance speech at the Convention until the morning after the election. Whatever they say will be on all the news and every word will require a response from the other side.

For the first time the nation would be forced to listen to Dennis Kucinich. For the first time Republicans would have to respond to him - and their response better make sense because, as I said, Dennis doesn't not stand and listen to horse shit without saying so. I think he would absolutely clobber any of the Republicans in an open debate and he (when he can contain that little manic streak in himself) speaks the common sense language of the common man.

Like I said, I'm not here to particularly support him, but he sure would change the nature of the race from the personality contest its lining up to be into a matter of substance in dealing with national policy. What a refreshing change that would be.

1. I like him too.
Because of how he handles himself, but mainly because he's of the hippie generation.

3. IMO, that is why alot of Hillary supporters
and the MSM (and the repukes for that matter) keep saying how he is not electable. He makes the most sense, and presents the biggest problem for the DLC and corporate politicians. They don't want him to get the nomination because then people would have to pay attention to him.

4. I would love to see Dennis get the nod. However the sad thing is
He would have to fight both the Democratic and Republican party. It would be much like when McGovern got the nod in '72. The Dem party bosses would do the bare minimum to support him, he wouldn't get any endorsements from major party Dems, funding games would be played, and in essence he would get stabbed in the back by his fellow party members.

That said, I think that given the mood of the country, and Dennis' great platform, I think he could still win, even under such a handicap.

7. I think you're right. I know he is the right man for the job and will vote for him regardless of
"electability" or any other such reason.

5. We'd have a real Harry Truman type
who speaks straight to the interests of the American people. Just like Reagan's style of being a straight shooter, I say Kucinich's style would soon catch on with the American public

6. He doesn't play corporate ball.
The corporatists would make sure he wasn't alive to lay his hand on the Bible January 20, 2009 if he were to win.

8. Is your dog named "Al Gore"?
I'm waiting to see if my dog is going to get in the race

If so, is he a yellow Lab, or just a plain ol' yellow dog? :-)

I was actually working on a story in which an obsessive Dem (much like myself) named his dog "Paul Wellstone": "Paul Wellstone Ate My Homework".

9. If Kucinich were the nominee, all of the Hillary supporters demanding we salute her would bail.

Well, not all-- but alot. Much of the party establishment-- and guys like Rahm Emmanuelle-- would almost certainly sabotage him in favor of a Republican. During the Lieberman/Lamont race, I noticed they didn't apply that old "hold your nose and vote" maxim to themselves.

11. Not my topmost pick, but yes, I'd vote for him. I'll vote for whomever is chosen
by the party at large.
