The War On Fucking

by tristero

I have a confession to make. When I was a teenager, I had sex with other teenagers. I enjoyed it. My girlfriends enjoyed it. It was real fun.

The general impression I have, and I admit that I haven't done an extensive survey, is that most people enjoy sex quite a bit. But clearly, Republicans don't. Having never knowingly slept with a Republican I can only guess at this, but I suspect they don't know very much about what actual sex entails. They probably think of how Bush fucked New Orleans during Katrina. Or the way he's screwed the men and women who trusted their government and wanted to serve their country by signing up for the military. So to the GOP, sex must seem catastrophic, a duty to perform, undertaken during times of stress, and potentially deadly. (Note to self: it's probably a good idea to encourage this attitude towards sex amongst Republicans.)

Their total ignorance is the only reason I can think of as to why they are wasting money urging us to “Tell your kids you want them to wait ’til they’re married to have sex.” Me, I'm telling my kid to enjoy her life, and that includes having a happy, joyful, and abundant sex life. You go, girl!

the price tag on "Abstinence Only" programs will probably max out somewhere around

$1.45 Billion.

4. Oh please.
Repugs are the real sex freaks in this world. That's why they are truly hypocrites. Freaky is their middle name. Sure they pretend they don't fuck but the truth is they are the ones with all the kink going on.

But you have hit on something. These are repressed people, and when it comes out, it's more than just sex.

42. I agree, the difference is in their selfishness
Yeah Repukes will get as much pleasure out of sex they can as long as they can get it. When they later tire of it, though, they will spend the rest of their lives attempting to prevent everyone else from having it.

Nobody I know did. No matter how religious they are. Abstinence is the stupidest policy EVER. Jeez, have these people completely forgotten what it was like to be a teenager. I just had to have a talk with my 16 year old son about condoms.

17. I have told both my kids that they would be crazy if they waited til they were married to have sex.
Who would want to finally get married and realize that they weren't sexually compatible with the person they had stuck themselves to? And, like your peers, I want my kids to make a mature and educated decision to get married.

22. Absolutely. I lost my virginity at age 16. She was a nice enough young lady, but it would have been
a mistake of almost unimaginable proportions to marry her simply because we were going to have sex.

It's an inane position to preach, and in addition to that, it's a dictum that pretty much no one follows anyway.. plus, it's based not in sound scientific or social ideas but rather in thinly veiled religious proseltyzing.. so why should my tax dollars be paying for it, again?

And I have heard apocryphal stories about a lake and a rocking canoe that suggests my grandparents didn't in the 20s.

BUT BY GAWD MY DAUGHTERS WILL!!! (didn't)

When my son was 16 and having sex with his girlfriend, always reminded him to not forget his rubbers!

Sex is a natural part of life.

13. Natural and healthy and shouldn't be viewed as 'wrong' or 'sinful'.
This whole demonization of sex really pisses me off. I think that is how a lot of girls find themselves in some pretty untenable situations. It is also why teenage girls of today are becoming pros in sex acts my generation considered pretty 'out there'.

Like I would prefer my daughter to be giving blow jobs and having anal sex instead of good old fashioned intercourse. I cannot for the LIFE of me understand the thinking on this. It just completely eludes me.

23. Nothing wrong with those acts either.
The only thing wrong with blow jobs is when the guy won't reciprocate. That's just WRONG and any girl in that situation ought to go Lysistrata on him. Unfortunately, I think this is sadly common, and I'd have to say that any boy who's that selfish and any girl who can't stand up for her own desires probably IS too immature to be having sex.

32. I don't think there is anything 'wrong' with those acts.
I think it is wrong to engage in them ONLY because in your brain they are 'better' than intercourse or due to pressure.

35. Oh, I have a problem with anyone doing anything because of pressure.
That's not good no matter what you're doing. Just holding hands because of pressure when you don't really want to is bad.

But oral and anal sex ARE less likely to lead to an unwanted pregnancy...there is that to consider.

31. And today if your son was caught doing that, he would be thrown in prision
and labeled for life as a sex offender.

I don't have children, but if I did, I would seriously caution them about underage sex, if only for the fact that some pissed-off parent could have your kid arrested at the drop of a hat.

Has anyone noticed how ANYTHING can land you in jail these days? Makes me worry about leaving the house, but then being at home is probably illegal somewhere as well.

24. Not completely true
I had a GF that was a Republican. She was a screamer and loved variety. The only reason that we split was because she got kicked out of the army for misconduct. (She told her commander to get screwed after he told her that he was going to give her an Article 15 due to being pulled over DWI.)

I was glad I wasn't working the night she got stopped by local cops, because I usually had to go pick up the soldiers from the local cops.

28. Given that a cornerstone of the GOP agenda is the outlawing of contraception
-and, eventually, all fucking for non-procreative purposes- I have trouble believing that ANY Republican (except the seriously jaded fiscal libertarians who just blow off the religious crazies who have taken over that party) is capable of having a normal, healthy, enjoyable sex life.

They don't want women in control of their own sex lives, they certainly don't want anyone enjoying themselves when they fuck. Maybe she just never thought it through.

29. there is no more sure fire way to control somebody -- than to
get a hand on their genitals.

people have always fucked before and outside of marriage -- and always will.

more marriages probably happen due to pregnancy than folk realize. -- always good to get married under pressure like that.

republick party critters don't want a healthy attitude about sex - and for you to have a healthy attitude about your genitals --
because they can't control you then -- no guilt -- maybe you'll have an abortion -- maybe you won't -- maybe you'll be a single father -- maybe you won't and so on.
