Poll question: How many here think the media will make election season so annoying that voters will stay home?
So far that seems to be the goal they hope to achieve.

1. I fear that the candidates will peak too soon and public become bored.

2. Wild, wild horses / couldn't drag me away...
... from the polls in 08.

The Republicans will try to suppress -- or steal -- the vote in 08 as they always seem to do, but with decidedly less luck than in 06, which was hardly a staggering triumph of an election for Karl Rove.

Two weeks out from Nov. 7, Rove was stil predicting the GOP would hold the House and Senate.

Didn't happen.

3. That's a good point
since that tactic would not work on Faux viewers.

5. Already there.
I've gotten to the point that while channel surfing I automatically click off any political face I see - and the other night I clicked off Obama, just by habit. So used to every political face being repub (I cannot bear to watch *, or Cheney or Snow) that it became habit, without even realizing it. Stopped myself and went back, knowing that he was someone I actually might want to listen to, but was extremely discomfitted by my automatic rejection of TV politics.

I can only imagine it is much worse for people who aren't even interested.
