Hey, I got a music review published (bonus: Cindy Sheehan reference!)
As you can tell by my sig line, I'm a huge Steve Earle fan. I went to see him at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco this past weekend (great free show put on every year by Warren Hellman, who just loves bluegrass), and after the show I offered to send my pics to an online publication. I got to chatting with the publisher and he asked me to write a review of the show. I wrote one, and he liked it!

So here it is:

And if you're interested, here are my photos:

Yes, Cindy Sheehan was there. She came out briefly at the end of Steve's set and said a few words. Steve dedicated "Rich Man's War" to her, and said he spent his honeymoon at Camp Casey.

1. Very nice work!
Nice pictures, too.

I know how hard it is to establish a career in music -- any kind of career.

My daughter is a classically trained flute player. She is waiting for a review that mentions her playing and uses her name. She has had reviews that have called her solos "dangerously languid," "fluid and captivating" and other things. No matter how positive, they don't help her career unless they use her name.

I hope you get other published reviews. Good luck.

2. Thank you! And good luck to your daughter!
My daughter wants a career in music, too; she's not at all musically inclined, but she loves music and has seen nearly 100 concerts, at age 15. She would like to start a record label or music promotion business. Tough business, for sure, she will have to just love the music and not be in it for the money.
