Sept. 11th survivor gives up fight with condo board over dog
FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) -- A man who says his German shepherd helps him deal with the lingering effects of the September 11th terrorist attacks has given up his fight against a condo association that wanted to get rid of the dog.

Thirty-nine-year-old Marvin Pickrum says he was working in the World Trade Center in 2001 when terrorists crashed airliners into the twin towers. He says he was having a hard time dealing with the memory and that his dog, Jazzman, was recommended as therapy.

Neighbors at the Deer Run condo in Fairfield complained that the dog has attacked another dog, and that he is bigger than the 35-pound limit allowed by the condo association.

The Deer Run Condominium Association sued in June.

1. Good grief ...
find a new place to live.

My guess is that the "no dog" rule existed before 9/11.

Cheers

Got the dog in 2005, possibly at the urging of a doctor. Hmmm...

People win cases like this often. And if it went to trial you can bet that most of the jurors would have been animal lovers as well.

edited for updated info.

9. I think that regardless, as we've seen time and again
the minute he mentions "9/11" and then adds "survivor" he'd probably get carte blanche to keep Godzilla at his place.

7. Who would want to live there?
Big dogs are no more trouble than little dogs. Of course we're biased, as we're a Golden Retriever family.
But who would want to live where your neighbors are suing you?

10. Odd, if they had a 35 pound limit, how did he get the dog in in the first place?
as a puppy?
