4. Bush started a joke, which started the whole world crying ...

5. Sleep-Walking’ America To War With Iran
Byrd: Senate’s ‘Saber-Rattling’ Is ‘Sleep-Walking’ America To War With Iran

Byrd warned his colleagues against “sleep-walking” into another war, saying “I hope that we can stop this war of words before it becomes a war of bombs.”

Byrd added that the Senate’s “chest-pounding” and “saber-rattling” towards Iran was “deeply troubling,” as the Iraq war has shown “all too clearly where it leads.”

As former Vice President Al Gore noted in his book, The Assault on Reason, Byrd made a similarly prescient speech in 2003, warning against the invasion of Iraq:

We are truly “sleepwalking through history.” In my heart of hearts I pray that this great nation and its good and trusting citizens are not in for a rudest of awakenings.

14. How does he sleep at night?
Bush wants $50 billion more for the war in Iraq (in addition to the hundreds of billions already spent)

but…

He’s unwilling to approve $35 billion to expand the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Senator Clinton said that Bush is “walking away from taking care of our children.”

I say he walked away a long time ago.

13. and now for some epitaphs
"Zees ees, 'ow you say, la justice poetique! The perfect epitaph for Bush's mideastern bungle: comparison to an equally spectacular failure by a French general."

http://wood-s.newsvine.com/_news/2007/08/30/931412-zees-ees-ow-you-say-la-justice-poetique

"The political epitaph of George W. Bush has been written in Iraq."

http://watchingamerica.com/elheraldo000003.shtml

"In The American Crisis VI, Paine writes what could be the epitaph for the Bush administration: 'If you look back you see nothing but loss and disgrace. If you look forward the same scene continues, and the close is an impenetrable gloom.'"

http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/2007/07/thomas-paine-would-fuck-george-w.html

(These) four words are the epitaph of this administration.
"Nobody saw it coming"--that could apply to the administration on many levels.

16. the epitaph for his presidency
Joe Conason tells the story revealed by recently released transcripts of a meeting held between Spain’s then-prime minister and President Bush prior to the war. As one might expect, Bush was arrogant and determined to invade, diplomacy be damned.

“I’m optimistic because I believe I’m right,” replied the obtuse Bush. “I’m at peace with myself.” That smug statement—uttered by a man who had no idea what he was talking about and no interest in what anyone else believed—could be the epitaph for his presidency.
