Under Bush*, the US has become a fascistic, imperialistic, yes terrorist nation
Fascism is the confluence of business and politics -> see military industrial complex, war profiteering and the inane influence of lobbying groups on politics. Yes, there are differences with Nazi Germany, that is not what I contend.

Imperialism : embarking on an illegal war for oil. Enough said.

Terrorism : using terror to achieve a political goal -> see PNAC and everything that has happened after 9/11. The government has used the terror of this event (see also : political use of the color coded terror threat) to achieve the Patriot Act, military tribunals, suspension of habeas corpus, illegal wiretapping and "extraordinary rendition" aka torture.

Does that mean every american is a fascistic imperialistic terrorist? Obviously not.
But this is why the upcoming election is so important. You either turn back from the abyss, or not. The 06 election was a step in the right direction, but you need the executive branch as well.

This is what is at stake.

1. Yes. The fascist take over of our country by the bushes began on election night 2000.
Election night 2000 turned out to be a nightmare, one of those bad dreams that keeps on dreaming from which you can't wake up. It began with the picture flashed on television of a shocked, surprised, awed, and almost tearful Bush family gathered in a restaurant in Teexas; a comment by Judy Woodruff, who said to to the CNN anchors covering elections results when Florida was first called for Al Gore, she said, "How embarrassing for Jeb Bush that he cannot deliver Florida to his brother," and Mary Matalin's comments shortly thereafter from her corner of CNN saying, "this is wrong, this is wrong; just watch how Florida is going to flip to Bush." Shortly thereafter the Bush family blacked out any news or picture of them inside that restaurant, Jeb proceeded to the nearest telephone to call his Florida goons, black people were prevented, intimidated and denied access to voting precincts all over Florida, and even prior to that, throughout the day a slow and almost undetected bush coup had been taking place all over Florida with people told their voting precinct had changed (people had not been notified of such a change), with Jeb's list of "felons" who would be denied access to the polls, precincts being innundated with people who, as you stood in line you would ask yourself, "where in blazes did they come from?" and Republican cockiness at the precincts.

In my own case, the lady who had registered me in to vote year in and year out said, "your name is not on the voting list." I said, "What?!" She knew me and said, let me look one more place, and she found my name in the back of her log with a Ø next to it. She asked me, "do you know what that Ø means?" I said, "NO." And she went ahead and gave me my ballot. At the booth something did not seem right and I told the attend I wasn't sure that I had marked the ballot. She took that ballot and gave me another. STill I wasn't sure of just what I had punched in. This time she took my ballot and dropped it in the ballot box and said, "NO. You have voted." and ushered me out of the precinct.

There is still a sour tasted in my mouth from that day ... then came came Fox's reports contending the first reports of Gore's win, and slowly night and mud and darkness and bush fascism began to fall on democracy as reports of thousands of people being denied access to the voting places continued to surface and then the heavy, burdensome realization that, an entire cast of bush characters which had been voted out of the white house in 1992 held the white house again.

George Herbert Walker Bush, a former CIA agent who also happened to be the 41st President of the U.S.A. was well versed in helping Jeb Bush move the forces which could stop people via road blocks, uncooperative poll workers, and intimidating tactis, from reaching the polls and casting their votes.

And now, as we believe that we approach a new election that could dethrone the bushes and oust the fascist rule they have put in place, we would all do well to remember just how the installed themselves in the white house in a bloodless coup and how much they will probably work, covertly and otherwishe, to keep themselves and their fascist rule in power ... yes, they are capable of launching another 9/11 type of tragedy on these United States ... just as they are capable of preaching a steady stream of fear/terror/fear/terror/fear/terror.

6. not sure any more of ... ?
DU which seems to have changed a lot? or, sanity which seems to evade the whole atmosphere of t.v. news as they serve for propaganda pieces and many believe the hooey about terror/terror/terror 24/7, or the seemingly unstoppable bush push to attack iran? it is all madness. true.

3. Dont forget about the terrorism industrial complex that Powell...
has warned about. Some of the so called front runners are using the word terror, terrorism and terrorist an awful lot in their campaigns. Some have actually had fund raisers with people from the terrorism industry and elected officials that could have an impact on where contracts could go. Powell warned that it scary to think of starting an industry that only exists if people are afraid and terrorized. If there were no attacks from foreign terrorists how would these same candidates keep the industry that they had the fund raiser for, in business? How far will they go? I wont be voting for any candidate that speaks of terror like the republicans do. The American public deserves to live without the constant fear mongering that is being perpetrated by some of our own candidates.
