If the election was not stolen from him in 2000 I bet he would have died on 9-11! Look at who would have taken over! Just like Regean was almost assainated in his first year and a Bush would have taken his place. Who pushed Al to accept Liberman anyway?

21. Doesn't worry me
there are the 30% that still believe in Bush and then add another 10-12% that are for other dem people running...I think he would win this time with at least 55% of the vote. It won't be a huge grand slam like most want to think because there are just too many rural folks that think its a sin to vote democrat...

Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 02:43 PM by YOY
Al has an office on the Eight floor of my building. It's an environmental NFP as far as I know and he is on the board. James Carville just went up as if he's meeting with someone about doing a piece. We'll see.

I was in the elevator with him.

67. Ewww! Sharing an elevator with the traitor who lead to Kerry's concession in OH:
Did Carville Tip Bush Off to Kerry Strategy (Woodward)

By M.J. Rosenberg | bio

On page 344, Woodward describes the doings at the White House in the early morning hours of Wednesday, the day after the '04 election.

Apparently, Kerry had decided not to concede. There were 250,000 outstanding ballots in Ohio.

So Kerry decides to fight. In fact, he considers going to Ohio to camp out with his voters until there is a recount. This is the last thing the White House needs, especially after Florida 2000.

-snip

"Carville told her he had some inside news. The Kerry campaign was going to challenge the provisional ballots in Ohio -- perhaps up to 250,000 of them. 'I don't agree with it, Carville said. I'm just telling you that's what they're talking about.'

85. No they're not!
If it isn't 75% 25& it is too close! Like 70% of the population wants out of Iraq, is it happening?
Where were you all in Dec. 2000? Why weren't the streets FLOODED with protesting Americans? Now you will condemn this man to hell to save your comfortable life? SO your Camelot will have a happy ending? JFK, RFK, MLK, WELLSTONE, Attempt on Reagun, who would have been president then???
We are going to have to find another solution than draft Al Gore! Dennis Kucinich has been willing to take that risk not once but twice! Chris Dodd has stated that if elected he will restore the COnstitution as his first job in office. Sen Gravel has integrity, and good ideas, he IS A STATESMAN!
Pardon me for being emphatic, but I saw the lay of the land way back then, AT the phoney, Buzzby Berkley, Repug convention. I've been in living HELL since then waiting for people to catch up with me. There are some on this board the same, and there are some who still don't GET IT! Hillary/ Obama supporters please dig deeper before making up your minds! I have even heard 2nd hand, from a Dean supporter, from Dean suporters there in Iowa that Kucinich was a part of the marginalizing Dean scream!.........................................

94. I like Al Gore but I don't want him to run
for president. He is too good for that. He has a cause to fight for that he could not if he were president. It is more important than referring fights with the right and left wing of the parties. I don't think that bering president is all that wonderful. It is a lousy job. You can't win because the snot nose American people are nuts.

98. That's the most proposterous thing I have heard.
And I've heard it a lot here. As Draft Gore aptly notes, he could do more as President than as any other position in the world. Period. To say that "He has a cause to fight for that he could not if he were president." is completely and utterly misguided.

110. Don't be mislead by these poll results
A "NO" vote does not necessarily mean it's AGAINST Gore.

There are some of us who think it's not necessarily a bad thing that Gore doesn't enter the race.

Gore could do A LOT MORE for the cause of global warming if he didn't run in'08.

I think it could be a loss for the global community if Gore spent all his time fighting petty battles about Iraq, abortion, flag burning or a whole host of nitpicking minor issues.

I look at it from a global perspective.
