Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 04:19 PM by cali
Edited after 13 votes to: Should a journalist or blogger/poster who's recenty worked for a politician running for president (or any other office), disclose that information on each piece he/she writes about that candidate?

Original question: running for president, have to disclose that article on each piece he/she writes about that candidate?

1. I think so.It is an indication of bias. And bias could be either way depending
on the circumstances under which they severed the relationship.

3. Transparancy in media would be helpful.
Though I cling to the notion that I'm capable of making up my own mind, it would be nice to have the authors of what is printed/broadcast/etc credentials and biases known.

4. Yeah, that would be nice, but
I think there's a duty to disclose at the bottom of each piece written about a candidate- if you've ever worked for that person.

6. I certainly agree. And, somewhere, perhaps in never-never land there
are journalists with the ethics to do so.

Kinda like unicorns.

8. What about a blogger/poster
who has worked for a particular politician or campaign?

Same standards apply everyone?

13. Really? why?
I wanted as unbiased a poll as possible- considering I absolutely and unashamedly did have a motive.

I'm not a journalist or a blogger, nor am I writing about a candidate I worked for.

But thanks for your concern.
