Even though I support Clinton, I hope other supporters KEEP PUSHING
Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 05:52 PM by Taverner
Every time Kucinich speaks, Clinton's staff takes notes.

Every time Obama speaks, Clinton's staff takes notes.

Same for all of the others.

Thing is, as long as your candidate is running, his or her ideas are on the table. We need that this time. Even though I think Hilary will win, I hope she wins knowing she will HAVE to court the progressives. That means incorporating the awesome ideas of Kucinich, Obama, Gravel (my old fave) and all of the others.

Besides, the that which does not kill the democratic nomination only serves to make him or her stronger. And I want the Democrat to win, no matter whom.

1. Do you honestly think Hillary will adopt any progressive ideas? Or will she do Pelosi
and basically dismiss us....?

I don't see her as progressive at all - her health care plan is a huge sop to insurance companies. She says the market will decide costs for insurance but everyone will have to buy it. Kind of reminds me of the state mandate for car insurance in Virginia - you have to have it - but you can pay the state a minimal amount for no coverage and still get your license and drive.

2. I dunno - I'm optimistic

Mainly because I can see payback in her eyes. When she said "vast right wing conspiracy" back when, I knew she was on our side.

She wants payback - and she'll have it in the form of healthcare. She's not going to let that go into the history files as "Clinton defeated"

Besides, compared to Bush* she'll be Abbie Fricken Hoffman.

6. At the least, the convention should be as inclusive as possible,
more than any other time. The candidate should leave the convention as the embodiment of the others.

5. I live in hope. The next pres and congress have to make some of
the biggest changes in our history, just to get us back on track from the disasters bushler, the dark lord, the rethug congress, and the rw nutjob neocons have wrought. Scariest thing about Hilary is the prospect that she is too much ingrained in the status quo. You are right though, she called out "the vast rw conspiracy" and has yet to punish them. This is the key to the biggest problems we face. If she does get elected, we should discover soon enough which side she is truly on.

7. She's Bush Lite & Must Be STOPPED
OBAMA is the ONE WE NEED to get nominated. Escalation on the Paki-Afghan border due to squandered opportunities to create tribal alliances and the totally inept Bushy policy has caused 1000 new Deaths - most of it Muslim vs. Muslim. The dim situation in both Afghanistan and Pakistan is being underplayed and OBAMA will negotiate a truce. Barack would give our country a serious chance at creating peace amongst the tribal factions, Taliban, etc. I truly believe the Clintons will sell us out yet again and will cut-off progressives like us once they have used up our votes. Don't count out Obama and Edwards just yet - the corporate media wants you to buy into their defeatest mindset again!!!

8. i watched hillary's barn party at huckleboro's farm in new hampshire (?)today
i liked what she had to say today... and today between me and me there is a certain hopeful feeling rising that if the united states is to return to a smidgen of its former self ... hillary will be the one to return it there. my feelings, hopefulness, impressions and observations are subject to change as time goes by, but for today it looks like she might be earning my vote if she happens to win the nomination.
