Facts about getting nominated (and folks like OxyRush who claims he was)
In a nutshell - there is no proof positive or negative that someone like Rush Limbaugh was ever nominated for a peace prize because we wouldn't be able to prove or disprove it until 2057.

Nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize

Nomination to the Nobel Peace Prize is by invitation only. The Nobel Committee sends confidential forms to persons who are competent and qualified to nominate. The names of the nominees and other information about the nominations cannot be revealed until 50 years later.

Qualified Nominators
– The Nobel Peace Prize
The right to submit proposals for the Nobel Peace Prize shall, by statute, be enjoyed by:

1. Members of national assemblies and governments of states;
2. Members of international courts;
3. University rectors; professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes;
4. Persons who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;
5. Board members of organizations who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;
6. Active and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee; (proposals by members of the Committee to be submitted no later than at the first meeting of the Committee after February 1) and
7. Former advisers appointed by the Norwegian Nobel Institute.

The Nobel Peace Prize may also be awarded to institutions and associations.

1. Well even the Nobel Institute needs some comedy relief
If Rush had been nominated I am sure a huge laugh erupted...

3. It is highly unlikely that he was a legitimate nominee

Did the Landmark Legal Foundation, the organization that "nominated" Limbaugh, receive an invitation from the Nobel Committee? If not, then this is a fraudulent claim that he is making, which is hardly a surprise.

4. Right, there are nominees, and REAL nominees.
I could nominate my dog right now. He could claim he was a nominee. But, it wouldn't be worth the stamp I bought to mail it in, because it doesn't count.

Just like during the Shiavo fiasco in Florida, when they trotted out this quack doctor who was a "Nobel Nominee". It turns out that he was nominated by my slug of a Congressman, Mike Bilirakis, whose nominating caries about as much weight as mine.
