FFS! These clintonistas make my head hurt. This has been his passion long before he was Veep. He wrote "Earth in the Balance" when he was a Senator and had nothing to do with the clintons.

1. True, but he is nationally know because he was V.P.
It is still Gore's effort. I should point out that Bill C. did sign the Kyoto protocol.

5. Not dissing BC, but Gore was nationally known long before he was VP
He did run for President in 1988 - - which was back when the press actually covered Presidential primaries. During the Bush I admin, Gore lead the Congressional action to solve the hole in the ozone layer - - which is why Bush I mockingly called him "The Ozone Man". Gore was also internationally recognized as an expert on disarmament when he was in the Senate.

One of the main reasons that Gore was asked to be Clinton's VP was that Gore was so well known nationally as a leader on foreign policy and the environment (and as a squeaky clean family man).

7. Yeah, I knew about Gore from all those things.
I appreciated his explanation of why SDI was not only wasteful but destabilizing. Still, I think today he is most known for being VP and his environmental activism.

2. Well, Buchanan (ick) says if he runs he'll be in a "knife fight" with the
Clintons.

3. Even Hillary on Countdown last night said that Gore had been at this for "more than 20 years"
so she, at least, doesn't seem to think she or her husband are behind his environmental activism.

6. Well, there are springboards and then there are springboards.

I think winning the 2000 presidential election was a pretty good springboard.
