I want Al Gore to.......

do what Al Gore wants. I would like for him to work with an international body in helping implement global warming policy awareness to extend a sustainable world. If there is a way I could help, I would.

he could have a voice in that arena.

I want him to keep doing what he is doing. If he runs I will gladly vote for him. But I would rather he continue working to raise awareness and change the world.

I mean, it's not like it's the most powerful position in the world capable of effecting more change than any other position in the history of humankind.

as POTUS, he can sign meaningful legislation with teeth into law. He can sign executive orders. He can appoint an EPA secretary who really gets the job done and pursues clean air and low emissions and clean water. He can fix NAFTA so that real jobs with real wages are created IN MEXICO so Mexicans don't have to leave their families and risk their lives to get into this country illegally and hide for years. Think of what HIS cabinet would look like.

14. Think of all the stonewalling Congress could do to him too

Really. We bitch about the Congress being unable to do anything now, and I doubt that with as many repubes as there still are a Dem president would not have an easy time either.
Do you really think he would have accomplished enotugh with raising Global Warming awareness to win the Nobel Prize if he had been in office all this time? I don't...there is a lot of different things Presidents must focus on. As a private citizen Gore can devote as much energy as he wishes to his pet cause...

12. Thats what I think too

POTUS can do some things but I don't think Mr. Gore would have accomplished HALF as much as he has with raising awareness of Global Warming if he was President. Too much to do to focus on ONE thing as Gore has with his Global Warming Campaign. Same with Bill Clinton-he has done far more for the health and welfare of the third world since leaving office because he can dedicate time to the actual issues instead of having to spend lots of valuable time raising funds for campaigning.

Whew, a mouthful,;-)but I believe a great way to have the political platform without the beltway BS and still maintain the freedom to meet this challenge on a global scale. If you agree, you can fax the UN Secretary General to call for this designation.
