Yes, Mr. Gore, make the media wait for you

I LOVE IT. And not taking any questions sure put the crimp in their plans to turn yet another honor that should be focused on the environment onto that same redundant question. BRAVO to you sir! You now have a world platform on which to use this honor to inspire action from world governments, corporations, and individuals. You have laid the groundwork and it is now we who must put what we now know to use to demand changes regarding business as usual. You have now made it possible for a global grassroots effort to take hold, and through your organization The Alliance for Climate Protection we now have a voice.

THANK YOU!

5. Gore knows how to play the power game.
Really smart guy. Seeing Al Gore's moves now, it really suprises me that he lost 2000. Maybe it took the loss to teach him a lesson or two.

I think he is doing great. And I think the worst thing for him right now would be to enter the presidential race and lose the power and strength he has, in exchange for the limited power of the presidency.

Bravo Mr. Gore.

7. I couldn't agree more
However, not to be confrontational, but he did win 2000. Though, I do know what you mean and again, I agree with you. Receiving the Nobel Peace Prize far transcends a political campaign.

11. I was watching CNN -- the anchors were waiting for the live feed ...
... and it was taking a few minutes longer than they expected, so they tried to pass the time by talking about global warming. Unfortunately, they didn't know enough about the topic to do more than blurt out what they could recall from that news story about the British judge who ruled on the use of Gore's DVD in the schools ... they couldn't even discuss the supposed "errors" in the film, because they didn't have enough information.

So they decided to cut away for a commercial. When they came back on, Gore was already talking. They wouldn't have missed that part if they'd had SOMEBODY who at least knew enough about climate impacts to fill "dead air" for a couple of minutes.

Not that I'm blaming those anchors specifically, but their network bills itself as an international news authority. This is one of the most important issues of our time, and they can't spare someone to at least bring their on-air talent up to speed?

12. Yes, the anchor on MSNBC...
Didn't even know Al Gore chaired The Alliance for Climate Protection... she asked how many "years" he has been working with them. She didn't even know anything about them. I'm so glad he made them wait. ;-).
