I'll bet any amount of money conservatives start their own "peace" prize
Because they believe the Nobel prize is liberally biased.

They'll probably call it the Reagan Freedom Prize, or something nausiatingly stupid like that.

Ever notice that? Conservatives see something they dislike or think is "biased" so they'll attempt to create their own lame knock off of it. And it will come off laughingly stupid, but there will be those who will take it seriously.

Remember how they thought "The Daily Show" was biased, so they created the horrid "Half-Hour News Hour" with canned laughter. That lasted for a good two months before getting axed, I believe.

Or Fox News in general, which was basically a Rupert Murdoch marketing ploy to sell towards conservatives who swore up and down the news was liberally biased. And it serves as the single highest insult to the American news industry in all of history, I believe.

So who would the inaugural Reagan Freedom Prize go to? Would it be Petraeus? Or perhaps G.W. Bush himself?

2. I like the sound of 'The Nixon-McCarthy Awards'.
In loving memory of the first president ever to have to resign in disgrace and that fine old red-baiter.

3. Nah. Bush will just steal Al Gore's Nobel Prize the same way he stole the 2000 election.

4. I'd take that bet.
Conservatives are getting crazier and more desperate by the day... although a conservative peace prize would be a redundancy in and of itself.

9. Pieces of it are on You Tube, if you are so brave
Not for the squeemish, however, or anyone who has a sense of humor. The opening "skit" each week was Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter pretending to be President and Vice President.

Yes, it was that bad.

8. Except that they don't value peace
So it'd have to be called something like the Noble Warrior Prize.

That I can see.

11. True
But they'll claim they are the great sowers of peace through war.

How Orwellian of them.

12. No, I really don't think they value peace at all, no matter what
They will quote Jesus saying that he came to bring a sword, not peace.

10. they did it already -- the Templeton Prize
Chuck Colson won it about ten years ago, I recall. A million dollars. This wingnut financier Templeton started it to compete with the Nobel.

16. Republican Nobel prizes would keep John Stewart in business for 20 more years.
Can you imagine?

Peace Prize: Donald Rumsfeld
Science: James Inhofe
Literature: Ann Coulter
Economics: Ken Lay (Awarded in absentia)

It would make satire obsolete!
