3. That's it for him. Can't elect a guy to manage a war who did
all he could to avoid being shot at in one.

8. I can understand the draft dodging...
but then prosecuting those that did the same thing is unforgivable.

9. FORGED! It's all FORGED I say.
Well, that's what they'll say anyway. Honestly, these Republicans just don't seem to care when their own party hack is found out to be a draft dodger. It only applies to Democrats.

10. Great thing about Obama - wasn't old enough
to serve in Vietnam.

This just further proves that Rudy's a scumbag... dodging the draft is one thing, but then turning around and prosecuting other who did the same - that's pure evil.

14. It's not 'pure evil'...
it's the 'Rethug American Way'.

Hypocrisy exemplified.

17. So basically you're saying "pure evil" lol.
Seriously, these guys aren't just hypocrites and they aren't just assholes - those words cease to apply when people die because of your choices.

13. He didn't dodge the draft
he got a deferment. And good for him - people had every right to do whatever they could to avoid that stupid war.

18. The part where I start having a problem with what he did was when he went to work...
punishing people for doing the same things.

Also, this is a class issue - he was able to do this bc of his connections, while poor Americans died in his place - that doesn't sit well around here.

26. He couldn't have prosecuted people
who got a deferment - there's nothing illegal about it.

Look, I don't like the fact that those with connections and power get the breaks denied to others. But he didn't break the law in getting the deferment. He did what anybody in such a situation not only COULD have done but SHOULD have done. It was a ridiculous war, and I don't fault anybody for staying out of it any way they could.

Gah... don't make me defend Giuliani any more, ok?

22. he must have pulled strings to get the deferment, though
He got an occupational deferment for being a law clerk, which was a "one in a million" happening, according to the documents posted above...

19. He really, really wanted to serve, but darn the luck...
One of those "liberal judges" decided to interpret a letter Giuliani wrote as a plea for deferment.

What a travesty of justice!

So, he had to "make do", prosecuting other draft dodgers. Such sacrifice!

What a man, what a mensch....

Please excuse my son, Rudy.

He has sinus trouble and has been warned by the doctor to stay out of drafts.

He also has weird feet, bad teeth, and a hemorrhoid.

sincerely,

29. Somewhat, perhaps - he didn't get 5 deferments or go AWOL so he barely qualifies
as a Rape-Public candidate.
