Crawford and Imus: Impeach Cheney
Discussing the Libby trial this morning:

CRAWFORD: I do think this trial can build a record for some kind of investigation in Congress. I even think it could build a record for an impeachment proceeding against Dick Cheney in the House of Representatives, the way it's headed.

Simply because he clearly was, if not directing, was involved in this effort to out this agent. And I think it's important to remember that they didn't just out an agent. They didn't just out one agent. In outing that one agent, they outed a covert operation.

IMUS: Well of course it was. I mean, we all know that. They're just lying they're...

CRAWFORD: And just because the prosecutor didn't prosecute that crime -- only prosecuted the perjury case -- doesn't mean somebody else can't prosecute that crime and call it a high crime and misdemeanor.

IMUS: Bingo!

---

Only Impeachment ... is a substantive act.

It IS our positive agenda.

And our ONLY moral, patriotic option.

1. It is patriotic
The Framers are probably spinning in their graves over the crimes of Nixon, Reagan and now Bush/Cheney.

2. And it's the
right thing to do. Impeach them!

I think the Imus show has been providing their audience with some solid information on the Libby trial.

4. It seems he's not buying the Matalin spin from the other day
about Plame not being covert? I had emailed Imus after that when you had posted that thread the other day.

Right.
The guy Bernard appears to have read up on the Plame scandal and Libby trial. Though he is a conservative, he wants Cheney to be indicted.

8. Damn straight! And it's a REALLY great thing that this subject is now
being broached, openly. What we NEED to do is what's now happening: IMPEACHMENT openly spoken about, in favorable terms - as in, we need to IMPEACH, or there's enough grounds for IMPEACHMENT, etc. Just the fact that this is being spoken aloud, in the open, in such a public forum, and with agreement all around, is EXTREMELY significant. It shows how far conditions have moved us, collectively, in this country. IMPEACHMENT is no longer unthinkable, or unreasonable, or any sort of unmentionable. It is NO LONGER taboo. It is NO LONGER something one dares not even consider. It's out there ON the table, whether Nancy Pelosi has put it there OR NOT.

Once it gets out there so broadly and openly, it'll catch fire. Especially with the daily fuel from the libby trial and other shit that's finally coming out about everything. And as Iraq deteriorates further and further. The drumbeat will only grow.

And we should do EVERYTHING we can think of to help it along.

3. Trial is a Showcase
Fritz knows what he is doing. The point of the Libby trial is now obvious. He wants Libby convicted of lying to a Grand Jury. But even more, this is a showcase of testimony to let the country know and put on the record the manuvers of the criminals in the White House. He knows the right people are paying attention and will not let the Bush/Cheney charade stand.

Even if Libby is not convicted it has demonstrated the extremes these criminaols will go to to lie for Libby. Hanah lied on the stand today to protect Libby.

6. Point of Order
The Rec is for Crawford and Imus who actually committed truth on the air.

(This transparent self-kick I can take full credit for.)

7. Truth is not "comitted", truth "is"
Supplemental, if I may...

10. Senator, I see your point and raise you one.
I did not think that "truth" and "Imus" were allowed in the same sentence in the common usage.
Wonders will never cease. I'll recommend you for reporting the truth despite the source, a sign
of advanced spiritual development and sagacity.

Was the "Crawford" Craig Crawford?

11. Yes, Craig Crawford
And yes, Imus is usually a wasteland of self, suckupper, and Euphemedia Analstocracy promotion.

But thanks to TIVO we can now safely extract the (only-occasional) 3 useful minutes from the 3-hour egofest.
